Public Hall,Lodi,Califorria.Mar.15,1910.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in
adjourned regular session pursuant to adjournment of Har.14,1910,
President G.B.Lawrence presiding and the following other members of
the _Board being present: J.I.31odg ett,F.O.'?ale.C.A.Rich and L. Viliinger.
The Minutes of the Previous Meeting were read and approved.
The following resolution, was introduced by Trustee C.A.Hieh
and read by the Clerk:
Resolved: that the Board of Trustees of the City of
Lodi having in open session held on the 14th. day of March,1910,
opened,exaiined and publicly declared all and singular the sealed
proposals for doing the worn and furnishing the materials and for
doing the wore: or furnishing the materials or any part of the sane
or either of the same for the proposed sewer system of said City of
Lodi,submitted in response to the notice inviting proposals therefor,
published in The Lodi Sentinel ( a newspaper of general circulation
published in said city) in the manner and form:, and for the time
prescribed by law,and under,in pursuance of and in compliance with
the resitilution of said 3oard,adopted February 17th.,1910,authorizing
and directing such notice,and the :natter of such proposals having
bean taken under advisement by said Board and said Board being at
this time fully advised in the premises,
The said Board of Trustees hereby accepts the proposal of.
Gladding.Mc3ean & Co. to furnish all the pipe of the various sizes
including all laterale,nains and outfall sewer free on board cars
in the City of L•odi,as shown upon the plans and specifications on
file in the office of the City Clerk of said City,within the prescribed
time and I'or the sum of Seventeen Thousand Four Hundred and One
and 15/100 Dollars (417,4C1.15),being the proposal numbered or
named "First" in the bid of said. Gladding,11e3ean & Co. together with
the proposals in said bid numbered or named "Fourth" and "Fifth",
in other .rords.ac cepts the entire bid of said Gladding.Mc3ean aut
& Co. save and except the specific ",proposals thereof numbered or named
"Second" and "Third".

The said 3oard of Trustees accepts also the proposal of J.M.
Appleton and Frederickson. 3ros. to furnish all the material and labor
necessary to const:' t all the work described in tine plans and
specifications on file in the City Cleric's office far said proposed
serer .oyster: of the City 02' Lodi ,saving and except as to furnishing
material,all salt glazed vitrified sewer nipe,such pipe to be deliver-
ed to then at the cars City Of Lodi,for the sum Of Thirty-two
Thousand Five Hundred Forty Dp13.ars (432,540.0G) the same being the
proposals numbered or named "Second","Fourth",„Fifth","Sixth" and
"Seventh" in the bid of said J.:-(. a.ppleton and Frederickson Bros. ,and
in exclusion and rejection of the proposals in the said bid numbered
or named "First” and "Third".
And the said 3oard of Trustees hereby finds in the premises.inclusive
of all and sin.; lar the bidding,as a fact,that the best interests
of the City of Lodi will be promoted by contracting for the the
furnishing of the sever pipe separately form the contract for furn-
ishing labor and materials other than nipe,and that in view Of such
fact and deternination,all and singular the proposals (save and
except those in this resolution specifically mentioned as being
accepted) are hereby rejected,and each of the hereinbefore accepted
proposals is separately and all of the same conjointly are declared
to be,in view of said finding of fact ,as well as for other reasons,
the proposals of the lowest responsible bidders in the premises.
And the President of the Board of Trustees of said City and
the City Clerk thereof are hereby authorized and direoted,in the
name of said City,to execute written contracts with the said success-
ful bidders,ln conformity with the terms Of their said respective
accepted proposals; the said Gladding,.[cBean & Co. to give a contract
bond in the sum o: 45,000.00,and the said J.M.Appleton and Frederick-
son Bros. in the sun of $15,000.00.
It was regularly roved and seconded that the foregoing
resolution be adopted as read,which notion was carried by the follow-
ing vote:

Noes: None. Absent: None.
No further business coming before the 3oard,the Board then
adjourned.
