The 3oard of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in regular session,President Geo.E.Lawrence presiding and the following other members of the Board being present: J.M.B1od.ett,F.O.Hale, C.A.Rich and L.Villinger. The Minutes of the Previous Meeting were -read and approved. .The following Applications far Building Permits were read and granted: T.C.=tawley.Addition to 3arn,Lot 2 Block 50.3.& K.Addition; J.R.Whereity,Private Barn,Lot 3 31ock-1,Barnhart Tract. • • -`dr.:{.S.Clark Jr.nade written application for a perrli-t •to construct -a sidewalk at 302 W.Eln Street:beginning said walk 18" from the property line. Upon :motion regularly nade,seconded and carried the permit was granted. A communication fromseveral parties protesting against the placing Of tie Septic Tanx upon the proposed site was read and laid on the table. •The Reports Of the City Marshal for the MoI:th of January and of the City Poundmaster for the same month were read and acoepted. •Letters from N.P.Glan,.Corte Madera.and from Scam dt •Constr- uction Company of Berkely,asking for copies of .the Sewer plans and specifications were read and filed. -Ordinance No.42.having been read and introduced on Jan.24, 1910,was read. :The proposed amendment,amending the Title -by striking .out the word "-eighteen" and inserting instead thereof the word "sixteen" and striking cut the words "or to frequent such place" and the words "or from frequenting any such plane",amending Section 1 by striking out the ward "eighteen" and inserting instead thereof the word "six- teen" and striking out the words " or to frequent any such place", and amending .Section. 2 by striking out the word "eighteen" and in- serting instead thereof the word "sixteen" and striking out the words "or frequenting any such place where billiards or pool is played for a charge",•:vas then read,and question put on the adoption of the pioposed arnencLment . {essrs.D.W.Bird,A.T.Searle,C.L.Van Bus'r.irk,S.S.Murphy,and Jr.o.T.Magee spoke in opposition to the proposed anendment,and Presid- ent Lawrence suggested that perhaps the ordinance could be so drawn as to meet the approval of all parties,by providing for the partit- coning off.or' the.billiard hall from the rest of the building in accbrdan,e with a suggestion made by Judge S:niLY}, The matter was referred to the,Cornittee of the Whole to be taken up again next Monday.
