The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in ad- journed regular session pursuant to adjournment of Jan24,1910,Pres. ;.G.E.Lawrence presideng.and the following other members of the Board being present:J.bi.Blodgett,F.O.Ha1e,C.A.Rich and L.Villinger. The Minutes of the Previous Meeting were read and approved. Permission to erect a dwelling en Lot 4 of Block 5 for 3.3.'.7addell was granted to C.C.Sparks. The application of C.W.Murray and Hugh Roach to construct a telegraph line for student purposes was read and laid on the table. ,In regard to the sidewalk along west Elm Street from Church Street to Pleasant Avenue,Surveyor J.A.Grahaz sowed a profile showong the difference between the elevations on each,side. He advised that the matter c:u1d be adjusted without changing the grade of the Morehead sidewalk. . 0rdinanee No.43,having been read and introduced on Jan. 24th.and laid.on the table,was,ta::en up and read. It was regularly moved and seconded that Ordinance No.43,be adopted as read. The motion was carried by the following vete: Ayes: J.L(.31odgett,P.O.Hale,C.A.Rich and L.Villinger. Noes: None. . Whereupon said Ordinance was approved and signed by the presid- ent of the Board and attested by the Clerk. Ordinance No.42,having been read and introduced on Jan. 24th.and.laid.on the table for not less than five days,was taken up and read. It was regularly moved and seconded that Ordinance No.42 be adopted as read. M;.N.A.Smith stated that he thought that the age limit of eight- een years was too old. Said that he had always prohibited boys under the age of iefsMaftx sixteen from playing at his place and had always prohibited small boys from visiting his place. He said that he was in the business of selling articles at his place and that the ordinance as drawn would prevent boys from even coning to hake purchases there. The manager of the Bowling Alley was present and stated that the Ordinance as drawn would work a hardship on him,as it was necess- ary for hin to have boys as pin setters. Said that he was willing to prohibit the,- _re;r. plar,n,J billiards or pool. 10 •Trustee•Rich then moved to amend the Ordinance as follows: To:amend the title by striking out the word "eighteen" and inserting instead thereof the word "sixteen";by strilting out the words "or to frequent such place",and the words"or from fregnenting any such place"; to amend -Section 1 -by striking out the•word "eighteen" and inserting instead thereof the word "sixteen",and by striking out the words "or to frequent any such place"; to amend Section 2 by striking out the -word "eighteen" and -inserting instead thereof the words "sixteen",and by striking out the words "or frequenting any such place where billiards or pool is played for a charge". The amendment was regularly seconded and carried. Where- unon the Ordinance as amended was laid on the table for a period of not less than five•days.sx$3xatxexxIxIXxxatax Jir.H.E.Welch asked permission to cut down some old elm trees in front of Lots 3 & 4 of Block 2,West Lodi. Referred to the St.Si•pt. V - The obstruction of Walnut St. between the'S.P.trax and••' Main St.by.the Central California.Traction Co.,and the conditions of the S.P.trax on Lodi Avenue being above the level of the side- walk was discussed and it was suggested -that the.attention of.the respective companies be called to the respective :ratters. . The matter of a contract with M.H.Henderson was then enter- ed into and discussed for sometlme without definite results.' It was regularly moved,seconded and carried that this Board do now adjourn -to meet again -on Wednesday evening 8'eb.2,1910. ..• Sc ordered. Attest:
