The Board of Trustees of the Cit!- of Lodi convened in ad—
journed regular sessior.,pursuant to adjournment of Jan.17,1910,
President G.E.Lawrence presiding and the followin" other members of
the Board being present: J.M.3lodE ett,r .0.:-ale,C.A.Rich and L.
Viilinger.
The Minutes of the Previous :(eetinf, were read and approved.
The following Applications for Building Permits were read
and granted:
F...Ire;r,Sample Room on Lot 5 of Block 10;
Elmira Johnson.,Dwel?ing on Lot?. of Block 3,,E.Lodi;
J.K.3ender,Dwel_ing on Lot 9 of Block G,E.Lodi.
A cora iunication from the ?{urlicipal, Publishing; Co.was read
and filed.
The written opinion of Judge E,I.Jones,in substance as
follows:
That the City could legally contract for the furnishing of
electric current for the Municipal Plant for a longer period than
one year,and that the City should advertise for bids for furnishing
the sa::e,was read.
Ordinance No.42 entitled,"An ordinance prohibiting the
proprietor or person in charge of any place where billiards or pool
is played for a charge to permit any person under the age of eighteen
years to play billiards or pool therein or to bet on the result of
any such game of billiards or pool or to frequent such place,and
prohibiting any person under the age of eighteen years from playing
billiards or pool at such place or from betting on the result of any
such game of billiards or pool or from frequenting any such place,
and imposing penalties;was read and introduced for .passage,and upon
motion regularly made,seconded and carried the aforesaid ordinance
was laid on the table t'or a period of not less than five days exclus—
ive of the day of introduction.
Ordinance No.43 entitled,"«.n ordinance declaring more than
three cows kept for dairy purposes in one place or under one control
to be a public ruisance,and prescribing penalties for creating,con—
tinling or conducting such nuisance",was read and introduced for
passage.and,upon motion regularly made,seconded and car_•ied,the
a''oresaid ordinance was laid on the table for a period of not less
thein five days exclusive of the day of introduction.
Trustee _iale,Chairman of the Street Committee,reported that
in the natter of the Walnut Street between the S.P.trax and :Main St.
several holes had been bored,thus draining off the water.
Mr.Richard Squire asked permission to cut down some trees
in front-of his lot ion W.Pine Street. The natter was referred to
the Street Superintendent.
The Claim of E.E.Breitenbucher for commission on the
purchase of the Sites for tie Septic Tanks and for the ?Tater and
Light Plants,having been laid on the table on Jan.3rd.,was taken
up and allowed for the sin of ;50.00,the amount of conmision
on the Septic Tank Site.
It was moved and seconded that this Board do now adjourn
to reconvene on '•Monday,Jan.31,1910. Carried and so ordered.
