Municipal 3uilding,Lodi,Calif ornia.Nov.3,1913.
Iii regular session of the Board of Trustees of the City
of Lodi,the following trustees being present: C.A.Black.J.M.Blodgett,
F.O.Hale,G.E.Lawrence and C.A.Rich. President Lawrence presiding.
The minutes of the meeting of Oct.20,1913,were read and
approved.
The reports of the Marshal and the Plumbing Inspector
were read and approved.
The report of the City Clerk for the fiscal year was read
and referred to the Committee of the Whole.
A communication from Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Co.
in regard to moving their line oft East Pine Street,and the Clerk
instructed to take the matter up with Supt.}enning and agree with
the company on the basis suggested by the Supt.
A communication from Citrus Fruit Products Co.,requesting
that prompt steps be taken to extend the sewer connection to their
plant be taken,was read and referred to Public Utilities Committee.
A communication from Lodi Volunteer Fire Department,asking
the Board to make a ruling on the question of taking the fire apparat-
us outside the City in case of fire in the suburbs,was read,and,the
Clerk instructed to notify the Fire Department that the fire equip—
ment of the City is to be used in the protection of property within
the city limits only. `
A letter from Woman's Improvement Club,thanking the Board
for the use of the Municipal Hall for their meetings,was read and
filed.
A report from Supt.Henring of the matters concerning his
department was read and referred to Public Utilities Committee
The following applications for building permits were read
and granted:
Mrs.D.Kellar garage on lot 4 block 10,Hutch.Add.;
W.H.Cutts addition to dweling on lots 7&8 block 31;
A.Soucie chicke_: house on block 50;
E.C.Hundley dwelling on lot 3 block 37;
J.M.McMahon addition to dwelling on lot 1 block B.A.& P. Add.
Dr.S.W.Hopkins,President of the Board of Health,stated
that Attorney A.E.Percival would state his conclusions in regard to
the matter of rules and regulations of the Board of Health. Judge
Percival then,in an able manner,set forth his views at to what the
Board of Health might do and what matters should be legislated upon
by the Board of Trustees. After some discussion,during which rapid" -
progress was made in the direction of the starting point,the matter
was still left in the hands of the Board of Health and attorney.
ORDINANCES.
An ordinance amending sections 18 and 19 of Ordinance No.
9.in regard to minors visiting saloons,was read,and,on motion of
Blodgett,seconded by 31ack.introduced and laid on the table for not
less than five days.
An ordinance prohibiting the.dancing of certain dances,&e.,
was read.and.din motion of Hale,seconded by Blodgett,introduced and
laid or, the table for not less ttan five days.
An ordinance prohibiting minors under a certain age from
being upon the streets,&c..was read and.on motion of Rich.seeorded
by Black,introduced and laid on the table for not less than five
days.
Various claims against the city.amounting to 32969.06;hav—
approved by the Finance Committee,were allowed and ordered
ing been
paid.
On motion.the Board adjourned until Nov.10,1913,at the
usual hoer and .1a^e.
