Ir adjourned regular session of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi,the following trustees being present: C.A.Black, J.1.P1odgett,F.O.Hale,G.E.Lawrence and C.A.Rich. President Lawrence presiding. The minutes of the meeting of Sep.15,1913,were read and approved. }Ir.Geo.H.Moore addressed the Board,as a member of Lodi Merchants Association Committee,stating that the association favored the placing of an electric sign on the Mission Arch. He submitted several designs and price quotations. The matter was referred to Street Committee to be taker, up with the committee of merchants. The following applications for building permits were read and granted: A.J.Bee}.man.chicken house at 436 E.Oa*: St.; H.Brannack,removal of building from lot 8 block 40 to lot 5 Blk 26; A.E.Dutchke,add.to dwg.or, lot 6 block 35; •W.P.Lancaster,dweliing on Lancaster Court; L.E .McClung,removal of tank: house from lots 9&10 bl:: 45 to country; C.J.Suess.dwelling on lot 6 block 42. The application of Roy J.Thurmond for a motor vehicle per- mit was read and granted. A communication assuring the Board that a certain gentbeman, don June,could locate water and bring it to the surface was read and the Clerk instructed to reply stating that the city has an abund- ance of fine water. A communication purporting to come from the Japanese Assoc- iation of L.A.& W.,but not signed by any of the officers of such association,was read,and the Clerk instructed to reply. Matter of lighting certain streets was referred to P.U.Com. and Supt.P.U. Claim of J.M.}McMahon of $35.05 for amounts paid out by him, having been approved by Finan,e Committee,was allowed and ordered paid. On motion of Blodgett,it was unanimouslx ordered that Supt.Henning be granted a leave of absence of thiry days,such vacation to be taken at such times as Supt.Henning deems expedient,but no absence to be over thl(t'f days at one time. Trustee Rich moved,seconded by Hail,that the Board adopt the rule that all salaried employees of the City be granted a two -weeks leave of absence each year at full pay,providing such employee has been in the City employ continuously for not less than six months. The motion was carried unanimously. On motion of Elodgett,it was ordered that the City Clerk be sent as a delegate from Lodi to the Convention of League of California }Municipalities at Venice,Oct.5 to 12. On :notion of Rich,it was ordered that the Clerk correspond with Board of Health and ascertain if they have established rules for plumbing. On motion of Black,seconded by Blodgett,it was ordered that 810.00 be added to the salary of St.Supt.,to apply from Sep.1,1913. Clerk instructed to arrange meeting with Board of Health for next Monday evening. The P . U . C om. recommended that the offer of Des Moines Bridge & Iron Co. for painting tank for $220.00 be accepted,and,on motion, it was so ordered. The Board adjourned. Attest:
