I: regular session of the Board of Trustees of the City
of Lodi,the following trustees being present: C.A.Blac1,J.U.Blodgett,
P.O.Hale,G.3.La.wrence and C.A.Rich. President Lawrence presiding.
The minutes of the meeting cf Sep.2,1913,were read and
approved.
The following applications for building permits :were read
and granted:
E.Roberts,_'enoval of cldg.from Mcrar--andel Add.tc Burr's Add.;
John Acker.granary on N.Churc_^. St.;
W.P.Lancaster,dweliirig on Mock 2 A&P Add.;
H.N. L'adisori,storage bidg.on lot 8 block 16;
7.J.Pobinson,add.to barn on lots 1&2 block 2,Barz hart Tract.
A communication From Des Moines Bridge & iron Cmmpany,
offering to furnish paint and paint the tank tower and tank inside
and cur for $220.00, Cas read and referred to Public Utilities Com.
A communication from F.K.?,ccawer.Trustee 'of irenice,asking
for a report of the number of of delegates from Lodi to the convent-
ion of League of California Lunicipalities.was read and filed.
A communication from Supt.Henning.enclosing an offer from
Electric Appliance Company to install an electric signal horn on
trial.said horn costing about ?65.00,was read and filed.
A communication a: d a claim from Seagrave Company for
£5950.00 for the Auto -Chemical Engine was read.
Chief.Stark,who was present,reported that he and W.E.Riggs
had inspected the engine with the specifications and found that it
was in accordance with the specifications sr better.
It was moved by ?.ich,seconded by Hlac}:,that the Auto -
Chemical ?ire Engine be accepted and placed in corrntission,which
:,ton was carried.
It was .moved by Blodgett,seccnded by Black.that the
President of the Board be authorized to sign a warrant for the ant.

The written opinion of Attorney Jones on the proposed
amendment of Ordinance No,9,and the proposed new ordinance on
daneing,etc.,was read.
After an almost interminable random discussion,upon the
request of Rev.Jones,the proposed law was returned to the committee.
• The application of W.H.Burkholder for a leave of absence
for one month was read and filed.
A report from City Engineer Barseiicttl that he had found
the pr:perty line of lct 15 block 28 encroaching on the street was
read and filed.
Mrs.Ora Adams complained that manure from the stable of
Morehead Lumber Company was being dumped close to her house.The Clerk
was instructed to notify the Board of Health.
The report of Supt.of Sewers and City Engineer to Public
Utilities Committee on the matter of sewering S.Sacra:ient0 and S.
School Streets was read and returned to the committee without action.

blocks 15 & 16 was read and referred to Public Utilities Committee

Marshal ,Colemar, asked if the Board wished him to col-
lect taxes again this year at First National 5ank,and was informed
that such place Was a?reeatle tcx the _pard. He also aV:ed that he
be e�poc:er_d to procure extra help in main out tax rece'pts.as _n
for:..er years.

assistance in the making out of tax receipts.
