Muncipal Building,Lodi,California.Aug.18,1913
In regular session of the Board of Trustees of the Gity
of Lodi,the following trustees being present:J.M.Blodgett,
G.L.Lawrenee and C.A.Rich.Absent:Trustees C.A.Black and F.O.Hale.
President Lawrence presiding.
The minutes of the meeting of Aug.11,1913 were read and
approved.
A communication from City Clerk J.M.McMahon stating that
he had appointed L.P.Barzellotti as deputy City Clerk to serve during
his absence from Aug.17, to Aug. 31,inclusive was read and ordered
filed.
The report of the plumbing inspector for the month of July
was read approved and ordered filed.
An application of C.E.Peters for a permit to build a garage
and bungalow on lot 13 block 46 Ivory addition on E.Elm'street was
read and the permit granted.
Supt. Henning submitted a draft.of an agreement tobe
entered into with L.Mason for the delivery to his refrigerating
plant electrical energy at the rate of $ 6.00 per kilowatt"peak.
load" ;he also stated ghat Mason would accept either the submitted
ageeement or a flat rate of $ 300.00 per month.After a short discus—
sion and some explanations by supt. Henning it was moved by Trustee
Blodget seconded by Trustee Rich that_ the president be authorized
to sign a contract with Mason for the delivery of the requested
electricalenergy at a flat rate of $ 300.00 per month:the motion
was carried president Lawrence voting "aye" with the others.
A claim by..P'uller of $ 2.75 for lumber delivered at the new well
was presented;Trustee Rich moved and. Trustee Blodgett seconded
that the claim be rejected as the lumber was to be charged to the
contractor and not to the City;the motion was carried president
laveyence voting"aye" with the others.
The co nittee of the whole reported adversely on -the
petition of Sievers &.Gatzert for a reduction of light rate
basing their findings on the report pf supt.Henring.It was moved
by Trustee Rich seconded by Trustee Blodgett that the petition
be denied;the motion was carried president Lawrence voting "aye"
with others.
Ordinance # 71 for the levying of yaxes in the year 1913
in provision of revenue for the fiscal year beginning July 1,1914
was read:Trustee Blodgett moved and Trustee Rich seconded that the
ordinance be laid on the table for a period pf not less than five
days;the motion was carried president Lawrence voting "aye" with
others.
