Municipal Building.Lodi,Califorrla.July 14,1913.
In regular session of the Board of Trustees of the City
of Lodi,the following trustees being present: C.A.Black,J.M.Blodgett,
F.O.Hale amd'C.A.Rich. Absent President Lawrence.
Trustee C.A.Black was elected President Pro Tem.
The minutes of the meeting of July 7,1913,were read and
approved.
A petition,purporting
of the City of Lodi and praying
on the proposition that certain
petition be annexed to the City
thereto.
to be signed by 166 qualified electors
that an election be called to vote
territory fully described in said

A petition.purporting to be signed by 2° qualified electors
of the territory proposed to be annexed.was read and ordered filed.
On motion of F.ale,seconded by Blodgett,it was ordered that
Hcn.A.E.Percival be employed to draw the necessary papers and do the
legal work necessary on the matter of annexation.
Marcus Newfield,representirg the trustees of the I.0.0.F.
Puilding,asked the Board to interpret Crdinarce ho.61,and determine
whether or not their building came within the provisions of said
ordinance.
The Clerk was instructed to inform the Trustees of the
I.G.O.F.Bldg..that,in the opinion of the Board of Trustees of the
City of Lodi,the I.O.C.F.Bldg.is ft131yx covered by the provisions
of Ordinance No.61.
W.O.Corbin complained of the speed and noise made by trains
in the City,and suggested that an ordinance be passed to reduce
the annoyance.
On motion of Rich,secor.ied by Blodgett,the Clerk was in-
structed to get the necessary information as to the power and proceed-
ure of the City in the above matter.
Truste- Hale,to who:: was referred the claim of A.E.Percival
for £50.00 legal services.reported the claim back with the recommend-
ation that it be allowed,and.on motion,the claim was allowed and ordered
paid.
An able and exhaustive opinion from Judge Jones on the matter
of street opening was read and filed.
It was reported that Pourd.raster Squire had stated that he
had handed his resignation to the City Clerk some time ago. The Clerk
stated that he had not received the same.
The Committee Of the Whole was granted further time on the
Application of H.3.Coleman for an increase of salary.
Chairman Hale of Street Comittee reported that W.P.Lancaster
desired to builds a sidewalk at variance with the provisions of
ordinance. Referred so Street Committee.
Chairman Blodgett of the P.U.Co::,. reported that a pole in
the alley west of the new San. of Lodi Building would be in the way
of the window. Referred to P.U.Com..with full power to act.
Chairman Blodgett of the P.?J.Corn. stated that the new well
is now 110 feet high and furnishing 500 gallons of water per minute.
The Report of Expert John F.Rarry was taken up seriatim
literat_m.and,on the recommendation of the Finance Committee.the
following paragraphs were adopted as the proceedure to be followed
in the future.to-wit:
Clair_s,Traveling=xpenses.Labor,Inver.tory,and Purchasing Power.
The paragraph on sale of lamps was referred to Clerk and
Supt.tc wort: cut a system.
On the matter of discounts.the committee was given further
her
tine.
The Board adjourned.
