In regular session Of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi,the following trustees being present: C.A.31ack,J.M.Blodgett, F.O.Hale,G.E.La}:rence'and C.A.Rich. President Lawrence presiding. The minutes of the meeting of June 3C,1a13,were read and approved. The following appliactions for building permits were read and granted: G.A.Pickering,dwelling on lot 3 block 4 Hutch.Add.; Jessie P.Gouldy.dwelling on lot 8 block 9; C.E.i7ilkinson,remodeliing bldg.on lots &&5 block 16; G.G.Gillespie,removing bldg.frorn lots 7&6 block 40. The aptlteation of G.G.Gillespie for permission to remove the trees frog in front of his property at the corner of Cherokee and Pine Streets was referred to Marshal with full authority. The application of S.Y,.Earler for the position of Night- watdhman was read and filed. The reports of the Poundnaster and Plumbing Inspector for the month of June were read and filed. The report of City Engineer, J.W.McAfee,for the fiscI year ending June 30,1913,was read and filed. On motion of Blodgett,seconded by Black,it was ordered that the salary of the Deputy City Clerk be 66C.00 per month from July 1 „1913,the above motion being carried by unanimous vote. The City Clerk requested that he be allowed to employ an assistant to aid in the work of completing the assessment roll,rei'is- ing the water and light acco nntirg and any otherwork of the office. 'Cn motion of Ri e?:, seconded by Black.the Clerk was authcriz ed to employ a competent assistant for one month at a salary of $95. It was moved by Rich.seconded by Blod;;ett,that l:r._.H.Myers be appointed a Special Policeman for the City of Lodi at the pleasure of the Board of Trustees,which motion was carried by the following vote: Ayes:Trustees C.A.B1ack,U.M.Bicdgett,F.O.Hale.G.E.Lawrence and C.A.Rich. Noes: None. 7ari0us claims against the City ai c:,t!nz to X4186.94, having been approved by the Finance Committee,:,ere allowed and order- ed paid.
