In regular session o:' the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi,the following trustees being present: C.A.B1ack,G.E.Lawrence and C.A.Rich..Absent: Trustees J.M.B1o5.aett and F.C.r:ale. President Lawrence presiding. The minutes of the meet_na of June 9.1913,were read and approved. The following applications for buildina permits were read and granted: R.Senner.school bldg.on lots 7&6 block 12; A.3abel.gara.ge on lot 7 block 6.E.Lodi. The apalication of Geo.11cCann for permission to construct a carpenter shed or. lot 1 block 37 was laid on the table for one week and the Clerk instructed to as 1.,.r,McCann to appear before the Board next Moeda evening to explain the full nature of the building proposed to be erected. The report of the Plumbing Inspector for the mo:th of iay was read and filed. The report Of Fire Chief Star=: of the number of fires occuring during the last nineteen moI_ths with causes and locations Of sane.and invoice of apparatus,was read and.on motion of Rich.accepted and filed. The chief was requested t- give more detailed information particularly as to the property loss. A communication from Lodi Fire Department relative to a "Teed Commissioner" was read and laid on the table.and the Clerk instructed to try to get a copy of the new state law on weeds. A notification, fro:: the Fire Department of the election of E.H.Stark as chief.A.P.Krub• as first assistant crief.ard A.P. Takefield as second assistant chief was read and.on motion,the election of the above mentioned officers was confirmed. A recommendation from Sur.t.?:erning that a collector be sent cut on the lith. -e each month to collect delinouent water and Light bills was read and referred to Public Utilities Committee. In regard to the 'Ratter of a street light at the corner of Hutchins and Locke ford Streets.Supt.Henning reportea that none of the people in that section were patrons of the light paint and consequently it would take.considera.bie line to reach the proposed light. The matter was left on the tacle. H.M.Sta:ley of the East Side Inp.Club complained that on East Fine Street the poles of the telephone company were not on the proper lire,and suggested that an ordinance ee passed requiring poles to lee placed an the alleys. Referred to Street Committee. Trustee Black suggested that the City Engineer run the property lines of the city lot at the corner of Sacramento and Lodi Avenue as Pars_hal Coleman had been receiving complaints that pipe was be ree piled on the street space. en rotion,the Engineer was instructed to make the necessary survey and mark the corner with stakes. Supt.Hennina took up the communication of Ceo.E.Henton and answered the various statements therein,denyi:g that he had attempted to influence any person to quit Renton and take city "Pater. He stated that they had used 1:`.r..'enton's enaine for "h'ate'r for flushine ditches.and the Clerk was instructed to aevise 11r. enton to file a claim for the serve e. ,matter of the boundaries of the district proposed to be annexed to the city on the west was taken up.and the clerk re- quested to confer with the parties interested ar.d,if necessary ar:°ange for a conference with the Board on the ratter.
