In•regular session of the Board of Trustees of the city
of Lodi,the following trustees being present: C.A.Black,J.M.Blodgett,
F.O.Hale,a.E.Lawrence and C.A.Rich. President Lawrence presiding.
The minutes of the meeting of Apr.28,1913,were read and
approved.
The reports of the City Marshal,Plumbing Inspector,
Engineer,and Poundmaster for the month of April were read said approv-
ed. The report of the Marshal showed collections for the month of
$1357.85 for licenses and $155.00 for Recorder's Court fines.
A commUnicatlon from the City Recorder recommending that
the wholesale liquor license of the Mission Wine Company be revoked
for three months from May 5th.,on account of Edgar Wilkinson's having
been convicted of violating the ordinance,was read and referred to
the Committee of the Whole.
The applications of Fire Chief Stark and First Assistant
Chief Krumb for a leave of absence from May 11 to Maye18 were read
and granted.
The applications of Marshal Atkins and E.D.Harding for
permission to operate motor vehicles on the streets of the Oity of
Lodi were read and granted.
Specifications for EL-CSICO pavement were read. Mr.Darragh
of City Street Improvement Company stated that his company desired
to use this pavement in paving East Pine Street. That the pavement
could be laid for 140 per foot,and that the company would guarantee
it for five years. He further stated that he did not want to go
ahead and sign up property owners for the work unless he had assur-
ances that the Board wobld grant the permit for this pavement. It
appearing to be satisfactory to the Board,the President assured him
that such permit would be granted.
Mr.Max Follendorf,of the M ierchante Association and on
behalf of that organization,calied t e Board's attention to the
unsatisfactory condition of the crossings of the railroad tracks
in the City. The City Clerk was instructed to take the matter up
with the railroad officials by correspondence.
Mr.F.J.Beaty,acting as a committee of the East Side Improve-
ment Club,complained :.hat the street sprinkling was done to the satis-
faction of himself and others. The matter was referred to the Street
Committee.
The City Clerk stated that the Home and School Association
of Salem School desired to get the use of the City Hall on the last
Friday evening in May for the purpose of having and entertainment.
The request was granted unanimously.
Various claims against the City aggregating the sum of
34.6,having been approved by the Finance Committee,were allowed
and ordered paid.
On notion,the Board=djourned until May 12,I913,at the
usual hour and place.
