In regular session of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi,the following trustees being present: J.M.Blodgett,F.O.Hale, G.E.Lawrenee and C.A.Rich. Absent: Trustee C.A.Black. President Law- rence presiding. The minutes of the meeting of Peb.26,1913,were read and approved. The reports of the Marshal,Eourdmaster,and Engineer for the month of February were read and approved. The following appl_cations for building permits were read and granted: D.M.Heald.dwelling on lot 13 block 10.Barnhart Tract; Miss Anna Brack.residence on lot 7 block 11; W.R.Haney,adnition to dwelling on lets 1&2 block 48 B & K Add.; J.G.Thompson,improre tank house on lot 20 block 1,W.Lodi; S.E.Lossing.moving barn from 119 S.Sac.St. to 224 W.First St. • A communication from the Assistant to the Secretary tc the State Board of iealth,enclosing a copy of the opinion of the Attorney of the State Board 'f -ealth,quoting some excerpts of the -State law. and advising that the Board consult the City Attorney.was read and filed. F.H.McLachlan,E.H.Stark and A.C.Wright of the Fire Depart- inent.urged the purchase by the City of an auto truck. A.J.Priedburger, C.L.Van Buskirk and J.Bill Ensminger also urged action. Lr.McLachlan introduced Mr.C.A.Taber of -the Seagrave Company. who said his company was ready to talk business. The :matter was referred to the Com.of the Whole. Dr. S.W.Hopkins,President of the Board of =ealth,introduced G.W.LeMoin.who stated that Mr.W.F.Keeney would resign from the Board of Health at the next meeting of the Trustees.and that the Board would recommend the appointment of Dr.F.W.Colman to the vacancy. A.B.Hoagg,Ed Spiekerman and F.J.Beaty advocated a change the speed ordinance to make the limit 15 miles instead of 10 miles. XsxXXB On the suggestion of St.Supt.Coleman a nOw broom was ordered for the Street Sweeper. ORDINANCE N0.6°. Ordinance No.68,er:titled." An Ordinance Establishing a Board of Health and in General Definition of Its Powers and Duties", having been introduced on Jan.27,1913,was read. It was :roved by Blodgett.seconded by Hale, that Ordinance No.C6 be adcnted.which ::lotion was carried and the ordina_ ce adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees J.M.B1odrett,F.O.Eale,G.E.Lawrence and C.A.Rich. Noes: None. Absent: Trustee C.A.Black. ORDINANCE NC.O9. Ordinance No.69,8ntitled," An Ordinance Providing for the Enforcement of the Ruses and Regulations o: the Board of Health of the City of Lodi,by Making Certain Acts and Omissions Unlawful,and Providing Penalties Therefor",having been thntroduced on Jan.27,1913, was read. It was moved by Rich,seconded by Flodgett,that Ordinance No.69 be adopted as read,which motion was carried and the ordinance adopted by the follcwing vote: Ayes: Trustees J.h.Bloc ett,F.O.Hale, G.E.Lawrence and C.A.Rich. Noes: None.•Absent: Trustee C.A._lack. varices claims against the City amounting to S3214.f!1,having been approved by the Finance Committee,were allowed and ordered paid.
