In regular session of the Board of Trustees of the City
of Lodi,the following members of the Board being present: C.A.Black.
J.M.Blodgett,F.O.Hale,G.B.Lawrence and C.A.Sicn. President Lawrence
presiding.
approved.
The minutes of the meeting of Feb.10,1913,were read and
The following applications for building permits were read
granted:
• Meehl & Kels.improveme::t of barn on lot 2 bloc:; 14:
Arthur E.Stanley.dweliing on lot block 2.I.Lodi;
G.W.3rower.removal.of bldg.to lot lot 13 blocs: 3 B.Lodi.
A commu±ication from Chief Star- of the Fire Department.
recommending that a payment of $2.53 be mac to the party who should
first reach the fire house and convey the hose cart to and from a
fire,was read.and.on motion of Hale.seconded by Black.the recommend-
ation was adopted by unanimous vote.
Various claims for labor.amounting to $41.CC,having been
approved by the Finance Comnittee,were allowed and ordered paid.
The President of the Board and the City Harshal,being tie
committee to whom was referred the app]ication of James Marlow for
a liquor license.reported that upon investigation they had found that
the application was irregular.ir.sufficient and not in proper form.and.
consequently said committee bad no jurisdiction.
Upon motion of Hale,seconded by 31ack.the report of the
committee was accepted as the findings of the Board.
The report of Supt.Henning upon the laying of a drain pipe
at the Septic Tann was read.
City Recorder Breitenbucher reported that a case of violation.
of Ordinance No.40,eatitled "People vs. Bert W.Varain" was set for
trial by jury on Fec.26,1913.and asked that a prosecuting attorney
be employed. The matter was referred to Street Committee.
Marshal Coleman suggested that the City provide a lock-up
in the building back of the 2ttnicipal Building.
On motion of Blodgett,seconded by Blaek,the City Marshal
was authorized to go to. Sacramento to corer with the Commissioners
there regarding the purchase of the steel cells that had been dis-
carded there.
St .Supt . Cloeman. reported having tried the new s •eeper and
found that it worked satisfactorily. He estimatedthat it would take
four men with hands brocros to sweep the streets this summer.
The Public Utilities Committee reported in favor of installing
both sewer and water in the northern part of the city and in the
Barnhart Tract.
'pon Notion of Rich.seconded by Black.the report of the
committee 'as accepted and the work ordered done.
Upon motion.the Board adjourned until Feb.24.1913.at the
usual hour and place. i
