the City of Lodi.t'.e follotiing trustees being present: C.A.31ack.
J.1e.31odgett,G._.Lawrence and C.A.Rich. Absent: F.C.-ale. _resident
Lawrence presiding.
The minutes of the meeting of Aug.6,1912.were read and
approved.
Reports from Street Superintendent _.B.Cole:an that he had
accepted the alleys in block 1C.and also West Pine Street between
School and Church Streete.were read..and.cn motion of Rich seconded
by 31ack.the reports were accepted.
The application of Central Ca1_fornia Taacticn Company
for a franchise for a spur track on Sacramento and Lockeford Streets
was taken up. 1.'r.H.. `.itchell.of Central California Tra tion Company.
asked permission to withdraw the application. It was moved by Rich.
seconded by 31ac:..t_^.at the request of Central California Traction
Company be granted,which motion was carried.and the application
withdrawn.
The application of Central 'California Traction Company for
a franchise to construet a spur tracts on Sacramento Street and
running onto private property southwest of California Fruit Exchange
Fruit Shed was read and filed.
An ordinance granting said franchise was read and irtroduc—
ed.and,on notion of Rich.seconded by 31od•^:ett.laid on the table for
not less than five days excl -sive of the d:;;' of introduction.
A.3abel asked for information regarding the grades on
,.'"alnut Street. Referred to Street Co:x:ittee.
J.P.ilbeau stated that '.e wo:,id build a hotel costing
frog. €2O,00O...O to 825.00C.C✓ if assured that he would be granted
a liquor license. .;e ..as referred to the ordinance.

The ::atter of changes in the license ordinance was dis—
cussed and the .-atter referred to a committee consisting of the
Clerk and :a_sha1 to prepare a revision of the i e license
ordinance.
The proposed dog Nuzzling ordinance was referred ts t e
Committee sf the .'hole.
The chairman of the Public Utilities Co2lait:ee recommended

the sewer and water pipes i:: the Burr Add.itior be extended to the
city limits,and,on motion of 31ac};.seconded by ?ich.the recommendat-
ion was accepted and the wor) ordered.
Profiles of the city grades,embracing the drainage system
of the Cit; of Lodi.prepared by City Engineer,J.W.cAfee.were pres-
ented and referred to the Street Com❑ittee.
The matter of placing the electroiiers on W. Ca: Street
was left to the Street Committee.
At this point in the proceedings,?resident Lawrence was
obliged to retire from the meeting and C.A.Rich was chosen President
Pro Tem.The matter of whether the city should pump the new well or
whether the contractor should do so was discussed at some length
and it appeared to be the opinion of the Board that it was up to
the contractor to show that he had the required quantity of water.
The Board adjourned.
