In adjourned regular session of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi,the following trustees being present: C.A.Black, F.c.Rale,G.E.Lawrence and C.A.Rich. Absent: Trustee J..Blodgett. President Lawrence presiding. The minutes of the meeting of June 3,1912,were read and approved. P.S.Gray was granted a permit to remodel a porch at 110 W.Talnut Street.and J.M.Patterson was granted a permit to build a screen porch at 310 S.Saeramerto Street. An application from City Street Improvement Co..accompanied by written pond agreement of the surety of said company.for an extension of 30 days in which tb complete the street work was read, and on motion of Hale referred to Street Committee for investigation as to reasons why the proposed extension is desired. The bond of J.W.McAfee as City Engineer.with Ed.Hemphill and J.W.Do^g herty as sureties.was read and approved. An invitation from Lodi Merchants' Association to attend a meeting of that body June llth..was read.and accepted. Supt.Henning recommended that the conduits for wires be laid on School Street between Oak and Elm before the paving is done. Cn notion of Rieh.the recommendation was adopted and the work ordered.. Recommendation of yenning that the Telephone Co.be allowed to purchase a one-half interest in five poles between Pleasant and Hutchins and Locust and Lockeford Sts. $4.0C each was approved. Inspector Bepper reported the names of those who had not connected with the serer. On motion of Rich,the report of the Ins- pector was accepted and the Inspector instructed. to notify the owners to connect within ten days or be proceeded against according to the provisions of the law. Grade lap of School Street between Pine and Elm Streets, prepared by Engineer McAfee.was submitted. It was moved by Black that the Grade Map be accepted and the grades shown thereon be made the official grades of School Street between Pine and Cak Streets, which motion was carried by the affirmative votes of Trustees Black, Hale.Lawrence and Rich. Mr.McAfee suggested :rat some schedule of prices to be charged for engineering work be established. -;aid 36 was the pre- vailing price in San Francisco under private contract. V.R.Larson of the Fourth of July Committee wanted to know 266 if the Board would permit fire -works on the Fourth. Re was informed that the Marshal had full control of that natter.and a permit from him lir:uld be necessary. It was moved by Black that the roadway of School Street south of the south line of the alley runnin7 east and west through biox 9 and 16 be made fifty feet wide.which motion was carried by the affirmative votes of Trustees Black,::ale.Lawrence and Rich. On notion of Rich.the Clerk was instructed to communicate with Southern Pacific Company and request therm to grade up their right-of-way to the proper grade so as to make _:roper crossings. On motion of Rich,the Marshal was instructed to notify all property owners to remove wooden awnings supported by posts from the sidewalk. The Board adjourned. Attest: City Clrk.
