In adjourned regular session of the Bard of Trustees of
the City of Lodi.the following trustees being present: C.A.Black.
J.bi.Blodgett.F.o.Hale.G.E.Lawrence and C.A.Rich. President Lawrence
presiding.
The minutes of the meeting of Apr.15.1912.were read and
corrected by adding note of the election of President.and then approved.

A.C.Wright of the same committee stated that the work of removing
debris hao not been completed and that they needed the assistance
of the Board.iir.Wright stated that it we ld take four or five
a::d teams a day to remove the balance of the rubbish,mostly weeds
and dirt,to the Guggolz lot on S.Sacramento Street. He was informed
that,if the committee would have the people rake the grass from the
dirt.that the Street Superintendent would take care of the grass,if
notified by the committee when it was ready.
The following applications for building permits were read
and granted:
A.V.Friedburger.wash-room on lot 1 block 15;
Anna M.hilgore.garage on S.School St.near Lodi Ave.;
E.F.Kickel.Lriek building on lot 6 block 14.
The application of the Moquelumne Club for a license.accorp-
anied by a copy of the By -Laws of said club,was read.and.or motion
of Trustee Hale,secorded by Trustee Rich,the application was granted
and the license ordered issued by the affirmative -votes of Trustees
Blodgett,Eale.Lw:rence,and Rich;Trustee Black not voting.
The natter of salaries in the fire department was left in
the Committee of the Whole.
The application of G.W.Van Noate for a Journeyman Plumbers'
License was approved and the license ordered Issued.
T::e recommendation of the President of the Board that the
following committees be appointed,viz: Finance Con.,dttee,Street
Committee,Public Utilities Committee,was on motion of Hale,seconded
by 3lodgett.adopted; and the following committees appointed by the
President:
FINANCE COMMITTEE: Rich (chairman ).Blodgett and Black;
STREET COMMITTEE: Hale (chairman),Black and Rich;
PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMITTEE: Blodgett (chairman ).Yale and Black.
?:Satter of Joe Patterson connecting with the sewer system
was referred to the Public Utilities Committee.

The following matters were referred to the Public Utilities
Committee: Porch Lights;Painting Municipal Building;Special Rate
on"water;Caps and Painting Fire Plugs;Improvement of Old Building.
The mat; -r of Street Cleaning,Sprinkling;and Broken'Sidewa.ks
was referred to the Street Committee.
The matter of Fire Escapes was referred to the Committee
of the Whole.
The Committee of the Committee of the Whole to which was
referred the matter of liability insurance reported that the
Policy submitted at a premiu.:, of $210. covered the city under •
sections 1&2 of •Roseberry Act.and that Policy submitted at a
premium of $402. covered the city under the entire Act. The Committee
.compensation
recommended that we elct. to come under the provisions of the Rose—
berry Act.and accept the policy covering sections 1&2 of said Act.
It was moved by Trustee Rich,seconded by Trustee Black,
that the City of Lodi hereby elects to take advantage of the
elective compensation, provisions of the Roseberry Act.w-rich motion
was carried by the affirmative votes of Trustees B1-:.ck,Blodgett,
Hale,Lawrence and Rich.
On motior.,the following committee was appointed to place
insurance for the city under the act: Rich,Hale,Black.
The Bond of H.B.Coleman-as City Marshal- in- thea.. sun.= ofzae
20004O,with-the following as sureties,each in the sum of $1000.00,
was read and approved: J.A.Graham.Gottlieb Boering,S.A.Shinn and
B.C.Churchman. --
The following claims against the city,having been approved
by the Audditing Committee.were allowed and ordered paid:
Jas.Marlow,Labor, $21.25
G.W.Van Noate,Labor Plumbing. 22.75
Sam Worrow,Labor, 9.00
Jacob Hepper.Labor, 23.75
W.R.Sparks.Labor. 22.00
G.0 Reid,Labor, 7.50

J.W.Shattuck.rcney paid for cleaning up,
