In regular session of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi.the following trustees being present: J.M.Blodgett,F.O.Hale, G.E.Lawrence,C.A.Rich and L.viliinger. President Lawrence presiding. Attorney Jones present. The minutes of the meeting of Mar.11.1912.were read and approved. The following applications for building permits were read and granted: F.J.Beaty,dwelling at 225 Flora St.; J.D.Christner,dwel_ing cor.Laisy and Sacramento Sts. Wauchope Bros.were granted permission to place one hitching post and E.F.Nickel to place twwo hitching posts. The Executive Committee of the Fire Department asked the committee of the 5oa_d to meet with them on We nesday evening.Agreed. Inspector }iepper reported that it would take about 750' of 6" sewer pipe and 50 Y's to run north on Sacramento Street. On motion,the Sewer Committee was authorized to purchase the same. The Lodi Sentinel made a request that a special officer be appointed to attend the shows given to the children. They were informed that an officer would attend. The following resolution was read,introduced and unanimous- ly adopted: RE6CLUTION. Whereas,The Lodi Sentinel in its issue of 1.!ar.7th.,1912,publish- ed what purported to be an interview with Constable Floyd.in which said Floyd was credited with making the statement that he had drunk liquor in the Catawba Club with a "number of the City Trustees",and. Whereas,the Board of Trustees are informed that said Floyd has both denied and affirmed making such statement to said newspaper, and, Whereas,the knowledge has come to this Board that said Floyd and one of his deputies have ..ade the statement in public that liquor was drunk with only one of said trustees,which said statement the accused trustee brands as wholly untrue,and. Whereas,the party with whom said deputy asserts ke said trustee drunk liquor in said club has been dead for more than four years, and the party with whoa said Floyd asserts said trustee drunk liquor is somewhere on the high seas hundreds of miles from Lodi.and. Whereas,the veracity of said trustee has been brought into 244 question; iJow Therefore Be It Resolved: That this Board,mindful of the long,faithful and efficient service of said accused trustee,does hereby express its unbounded confidence in his honor and truthfull— ness,and Be It Further Resolved: that a committee of four be appoint— ed from this Board to thoroughly investigate said matter that. the honor of said Trustee may be vindicated and that the truth be made known to the public.
