In adjourned regular session of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi,the following trastees being present: J.M.Blodgett. F.O.Ha1s,G.E.Lawrence and•D.A.Rich. Absent: L.Vlllinger. President Lawrence presiding. The minutes of the meeting of Mar.4,1212.were read and approved. A communication from Lodi Merchants' Association,inviting the Board of Trustees,Marshal,Clerk and Treasurer to attend a meeting of the Association on Mar.l2th.,was read and or. motion of Trustee Rich the invitation was accepted. The claire of Ed.Hoover of $10.00 for labor and the claim of Jas.Marlow of413.75 for labor wase allowed and ordered paid. Dr.S.W.Hopkins said he had intended tc meet Engineer Tumelty in regard to the grade on South Sacramento Street. Said that Tumelty had suggested that if the property owners would sign a waiver the grade could be lowered so that no one would be injured. The matter of having the Postal Telegraph Co. and Central California Traction Co.rove their poles on N.Saera.,.ento Street in front of the I'riedburger new building was taken ::p and the Clerk instructed to write the above companies in regard to same. The Board of Library Trustees recommended that Geo.LeFeber be appointed a member of the Library Board. The President of the Board,with the consent of the Board,du?y appointed Geo.LeFeber a member of the Board of Library Trustees. The :natter of extending the sewer north on Sacramento St. was discussed and Inspector Hepper instructed to make a report on the same at the next meetinr'. It was stated that 0.A.Schroeder desired to put in a 2" water pipe from the city pipe line to his property in the Cordier Tract. Several members of the 3oard expressed themselves as being opposed to furnishing any more water outside o± the city. The matter of painting and plumbing the new building was referred to the building committee and the Superintendent. On :-.otion.the Clerk was instructed to advertise for 15 tons 4"Cast Iron Pipe and fittings and,\Cory Hydrants with crane attachment. The matter of hitching posts was taken up and a motion made.secinded and carried that no hitching posts be placed on the improved streets without the consent of the Board granted upon an application properly nade.stating the lo.cation,nu:nber of posts 247 desired and distance between posts. The following resolution was read,and on motion of Trustee Blodgett,seconded by Trustee Hale,the resolution was adopted by the affirmative votes of Trustees J.M.Blodgett,F.O.ale,G._.Lawrence and, C.A.Rich: RESOLUTION. BE IT RESOLVED: That the Pr- silent of the Board of Trustees and the City Clerk of the City of Lodi be and they are hereby authorized and directed to give notice according to law of a General Municipal Elect— ion to be held in and for said City on Monday,the eighth day of April, 1912. That,for said election,Lodi No.1 Precinct and Lodi No.2 Precinct shall be and constitute Consolidated Election Precinct No.1; and Lodi No.3 Precinct and Lodi No.4 Precinct shall be and constitute Consolidated Election Precinct No.2. That the polling place in Consolidated Election Precinct No.1 shall be the bolding adjoining W.Steacy's blacksmith shop on the north,on Main Street between Pine and Oak Streets. That the polling place in Consolidated Election Precinct No.2 shall be the Public Hall on North Sacramento Street between Locust and Lockeford Streets. That the Officers of Election in Consolidated Election . Precinct No.1 shall be: Inspectors: Elizabeth M.Hatton and T.H.Myers. Judges: J.J.Eubbard and W.L.Sidelinger. Clerks: Uayme Philltps and A . S .Anderson . Ballot Clerks: Lora L.Stanfield and ?-?.S.Clar}: Sr. That the Officers of election in Consolidated Election Precinct No.2 shall be: Inspectors: Isabelle A.Wright and C.A.Bright. Judges: A.G.Corson and John Acker. Clerks: Catherine Fields and John Bauer. Ballot Clerks: Bertha Spiekerran and F.J.Bownan. The Board adjourned. Attest:
