In regular session of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi,the following trustees being present: J.M.Blodgett,F.O.Hale. G.E.Lawrence.C.A.Rich and L.Villinger. President Lawrence presiding. The minutes of the meeting of Feb.26,1912,were rear, and approved.. The reports of the Marsal,the Poundmaster.and the•Plu:.bing Inspector for the month of February were read and approved. R.Senner was granted a permit to construct a dweeling.for Mr.Schneider on lot 13 block 7 Barnhart Tract.and Geo.Brower was granted a permit to move a dwelling from 12 S.School Street to the Cordier Tract. A copy of the opinion of City Attorney Long of San Francisco in regard to the operation of the "Roseberry Act" was read. MR.W.O.Corbin made complaint of the grade of the curb in front of hie property on S.Sacramento St. The matter was referred to Street Committee. The matter of an attorney to prosecute violations of city ordinances was brought up at the request Marshal Cole*;an,and the President of the Board was made a committee of one to employ an attorney. On motion,the Clerk was instructed to notify Western States Gas & Ele?trio Company that we had already informed their represent— ative of the selection of Jas.T.Langford to represent the city in the matter of adjusting differences between the city and the company, and that our representative awaited their pleastre in meeting their representative. The matter of purchasing a motor was taken up and Supt. Henning authorized to make the necessary purchase. Trustee Rich reported that W.T.Gregz would supervise the construction of the new building for 3i of the cost of $4000.0O,said 33 including the $50.00 already paid. On notion of Trustee Blodgett, Mr.Gregg was employed. On motion of Trustee Rich,the President was authorized to appoint a building cor.:mittee Of two. The President appointed Trustees Rich and Hale. Ordinance No.58,entitled."An Ordinance Imposing Municipal Licenses on Social Clubs in the City of Lodi.California,Providing the Manner of Issuing,Coliecting and Revoking the Same,Regulating the Sale of Liquor in Such Clubs.and Fixing a Penalty for the Violat— ion of Said Ordinance",was read. The motion to adopt Ordinance No.58 as read,which motion was duly made and•seconded and laid on the table for not less than five days.on Feb.14,1912,was put and carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees J.M.Blodgett,F.O.Hale,G.E.Lawrence.C.A.Rich and L. Villinger. Noes: -None. Absent: None. It was moved by Trustee Blodgett.seconded by Trustee Hale, -.I that I - that the City Clerk be directed to certify to the passage of the foregoing Ordinance No.58 and publish the same in The Lodi Sentinel, which notion was carried by the affirmative votes of Trustees Blodgett,hale,Lawrence,Rich and Villinger.
