In regular session of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi,the following trustees being present: J.M.Blodgett,F.O.Hale, G.E.Lawrence,C.A.Rich and L.Villinger. President Lawrence presiding. The minutes of the meeting of Jan.31,1912,were read and approved. The reports of the City Marshal and the City Poundmaster for the month of January,1912,were read and approved. The following applications for building permits were read and granted: E.w.Devine,dwelling on lot 3 block 7,E.Lodi; Lizzie Schaeffer,barn on lot 14 block 4,E.Lodi; L.A.St.John,dwelling on lot 5 block 4,E.Lodi; M.L.Gray,dwelling on lot 2 block 4,Hutch.Add.; Cluff Sign Co.,addition to Ulaing,N.School St. A letter from H.H.Henderson,complaining of an article in The Lodi Sentinel,was read,and the clerk instructed to answer the same,stating that the Board were not responsible for anything appear- ing The Lodi Sentinel. An invitation_ from Lodi Merchants' Association,invitin^ the Board to meet with them on Feb.l3th.,was read,and on motion the invitation was accepted. Inspector Hopper was instructed to purchase 500 feet of 6" and 200 feet of 12• S.G.V.Pipe for catch basins for the sewer. Mr.J.J.Rush asked if the Board would accept a deed to a strip of land 25 feet wide east of his place for an alley. The proposition was accepted. On motion,F.B.whyers was granted permission to place a gasoline tank under the side -walk in front of his garage on S.School St.,said tank to remain during the pleasure of the Board,and all provisions of the ordinances to be complied with. On motion of Trustee Hale,seconded by Trustee Rich,the Chairman of the Street Committee was instructed to parchase one doz. new chairs for the city hall. The Library Board made a request for an amount of $800.00 to be appropriated fcr the maintenance of the Library till the first of July,1912,when the tax money would be available. The Board were not clear as to whether the matter could be legally done.
