In regular adjourned session of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi,the following trustees being present: J.M.Blodgett, F.O.Hale.G.E.Lawrence.C.A.Rich and L.Jiliinger. President Lawrence presiding. approved. The minutes of the meeting of Jan.22,1912,were read and Bids for the furnishing of 1000 feet of Fire Hese and doz.Cooper Leak Jackets were opened and read: Otto A•Weihe, John H.Davies, Western Belting & Hose Co.. American -La France Fire engine Co.. Eureka Fire pose Mfg.Co., New York Belting & Pckg.Co.. Bowers Rubber Works. Gutta Fereha & Rubber Mnfg.Co., American Rubber Mfg.Co. t Further consideration of the bids was deferred until the next meeting. The following bids for pipe were opened and read: Beckman.Welch & Thompson Co.. Henderson Bros.Co.. Lodi Hardware Co.. John H.Davies. $289.15 312.25 324.00 338.55 Further consideration of the bids was deferred until the next meeting. The following communication was received from Engineer Tumelty: Lodi.California.Jan.29.1912. To The Honore ble Board of Trustees. Of The City of Lodi. Gentlemen: In order to complete the present improvement of Sacramento Street in a workmanlike manner I herewith recommend: - That the present track of the Central California Traction gzm Company be moved to the center line of Sacramento street (5.9 feet east of its present location);that Trilby rails be substituted for the present Tee rails and that the space between rails and two feet outside thereof be paved with a concrete base at least five inches thick and a row of basalt paving blocks embedded in cement mortar and said concrete.forrning a toothed joint construction,be laid along each side of each rail; that the remainder of the concrete base be over -laid with a one -inch asphaltic binder and a one and one-half inch asphalt wearing surface both similar in all respects with the corresponding courses of the abutting improvement. Upon motion of Trustee Rich.seconded by Trustee Blodgett. the recommendation of Engineer Tumelty was approved.and the Clerk instructed to notify Central California Traction Company to comply with the recommendations. The matter of drainage of the improved streets was taken up.and.on motion of Trustee Blodgett.eeconded by Trustee Rich, Inspector Hepper was instructed to make the necessary connections 228 between the catch basins and the sewer. The reports of the Clerk and Treasurer for the quarter ending Dec.31,1911.were Bead and approved. The following claims against. the City.having been aa. approved by the Auditting Comrnittee.were allowed and ordered paid: Dan Eggener,Labor, P.Durand.Labor. P . Knudeen was on lot 5 blcok 33. On mtoion,the Attest: granted a $2.65 14.00. Permit to erect a dwelling Board adjourned until Jan.31,1912. j City Clerk.
