In regular session of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi there were present Trustees Hale, Black, Keeney, Deaver and Folendorf. Minutes cf the previous meeting were approved as read. E. 2. Nickel was granted permission to construct addi- tion to second story of his brick building at 17 and 19 West Elm street Mason Brothers Ice & Cold Storage Company formally noti- fied the Board that it had sold its property and business to I.F. Stein of Stockton and had assigned to the purchaser its contract with the City for furnishing electricity. The communication was ordered filed and the matter referred to a committee of the whole. The application of H. Branrock for employment as garbage man was referred to a committee of the whole. A proposition from the Pittsburg-DesMoines Steel Company to clear. and paint the'city's water tank was read. Trustee Deaver moved, seconded by Trustee Folendorf,that Joe IKohler of Stockton be employed to clean and paint the city's water tank and tower, the city to furnish the paint, providing satisfactory arrangements be made regarding compensation insur- ance. The motion was carried. The City Clerk was instructed to take up the matter of compensation insurance with the State Fund. Trustee Keeney moved, seconded by Trustee Black, that the city purchase two standard electric heaters to be given over to the use of the Red Cross in Maple Hall. The motion was adopted. A motion made by Trustee Black, seconded by Trustee Keeney, and duly carried, directed that the necessary steps be taken to ex- tend a six-inch water main'to serve the Lodi Canning Company on Tokay street. [ion motion of Trustee Black, seconded by Trustee Folen- dorf, it was decided to proceed with the work of excavating a pit for installation of pumps in the new wells. Trustee Black reported that upon investigation at the sep- tic tank it was found that -the outlet pipe was not of sufficient size to carry the overflow caused by storm water and •thereupon moved, seconded by Trustee Keeney, that the city proceed to place an adds- ' tioral outlet in the west side of the tank. The motion was adopted. Bills amounting to 4887.84 were allowed and ordered paid. The Board adjourned. Attest: r� 4 , City Clerk.
