City Ball, Lodi, Cal., September 11,1917.
In regular adjourned session of the Board of Trustees of the
City of Lodi there were present Trustees Hale, Black, Keeney, Deaver
and Folendorf.
Minutes of the adjourned session of September 10th were read
and approved.
Permission was gramted to T.D.Christner to build a private
garage at 5Q1 North Sacramento street.
Sealed proposals for the improvement of West Oak street were
received as follows:
A. Teichert 4 Son, Sacramento—
Grading per sq. ft $0.02
Paving u u u 0.16
Concrete curbs per lineal foot 0.45
Concrete gutters per sq. ft. 0.20
Clark & Eenery Construction Company, Stockton --
Grading, per sq. ft. $0.015
Warren_ite pavement,per sq. ft. 0.15
Concrete curbs,per lineal foot 0.38
Concrete gutters 0.18
Trustee Folendorf moved, seconded by Trustee Black „that the
time for consideration of bids in the matter of paving West oak Street
be continued until Monday, September 17th, and at said time action be
taken in regard to awarding or not awarding a contract. The motion
was carried unanimously.
A labor claim of $2.19 in favor of D.T.Scoggins and a claim
of the Western States Gas 5 Electric Company for electric current for
the month of August,amounting to $1383.76, were allowed and ordered paid.
Upon motion of Trustee Keeney, seconded by Trustee Folen—
dorf, the proposition of The Lodi Sentinel to publish in the Sentinel
and print on good quality book paper with cuts and suitable cover 100
copies of the City's annual report for $85 was accepted.
Trustee Deaver's resolution calling upon the City Treas—
urer to submit a sworn statement as to the amount of City money de—
posited in banks, which resolution was introduced August 20th and laid
on the table for one week, was taken up for discussion. City Attorney
Steele made a statement of his proceedings in the matter of securing
payment of interest on the City's money and requested the Board not
to adov_t the resolution at this time. -
Trustee Deaver moved the adoption of the resolution as
read. There was no second.
Trustee Keeney moved, seconded by Trustee Black, the res—
olution be laid on the table. The motion was carried, Trustee Deaver
voting °leo . °
J. M. McMahon addressed the Board in the matter of fixing
curb lines in preparation for improvement of North School Street and
upon the suggestion of Trustee Black the matter was left in the hands
of property owners on that street to work in conjunction with th? City
Engineer to devise the best manner of adjusting the same.
