HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - September 4, 191749- • gunicipal Building,Lodi,Cal.,September 1+,1917. The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened pursuant to adjournment of Sept. 3d. There were present Trustees Hale, B1ack,Keeney, Deaver and Folendorf. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. J. T. Hatton was granted permit to build for Mrs. A Kelsey a barn and addition to dwelling at 221 South Church Street. Rice & Johnson were granted permit to remove a gasoline sentry from 26 West Elm Street to 19 west Pine street. Reports of the City Marshal, City Poundmaster and Plumbing In- spector for the month of August were read and ordered filed. The annual report of the City Clerk was read and referred to t the Finance Committee-. - ORDINANCE NUMBER NINETY, °An Ordinance Amending Section 2 of Ordinance Number 38 as Amended by Ordinance Number 89,0 having been introduced August 28th and laid on the table for not less than five days, was given final reading and passed to print. Trustee Deaver moved, seconded by Trustee Keeney, that Ordinance No. 90 be adopted as read, which motion was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Hale, Black, Keeney, Deaver and Folendorf. NOes: None. Absent: None. It was moved by Trustee Black, seconded by Trustee Keeney, that the City take the necessary legal steps to purchase portions of Hannah Watkins' and E. F. Nickel's properties as described in the deeds now held by W. H. Lorenz with instructions to deliver the same to City of Lodi upon payment of $160 for •the Watkins property and $75 for the Nickel property. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Salary, labor and miecellaneous claims amounting to $511'(.x.6 having been audited by the Finance Committee Trustee Folendorf moved, seconded by Trustee Black, that the bilis be allowed and ordered paid as read. The motion was carried, Trustee Deaver voting °Non on the bill of I. B. Hughes for ,$.800 and the bill of M. Davidson for $397.75. In the matter of Trustee Deaver's resolution calling upon the City Treasurer to submit a sworn statement as to city monies deposited in banks, which resolution was introduced August 20th and laid on the table for one week, Trustee Deaver moved, seconded by Trustee Keeney, that time for consideration of same be extended until the next meet- ing of the Board. The motion was adopted. Upon motion the Board adjourned to meet again Monday, Septem- ber 10th, 1917, at 8:00 p. m. Attest: city Clerk.
