In regular session of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi t] -ere were present Trustees Hale, Black, Keeney, Deaver and Poiendorf. Minutes of the previous meeting were -read and approved. Building permits were granted to ::'.R.:ar:ey,storage room at 224 ::crtrt Grand Avenue; J.A.Ylaassert,private stable at 445 Tokay St.; F.—.Welch, private garage at 415 rest Pine St., The application of Crose 3_ Marling for permit to construct addition to a building used as a restaurant on lot 6, block 23, was laid on the table indefinitely. • A.B.Hoag was granted Permission to install an underground storage tank for gasoline at his garage on lot 9, block 17,on South Sacramento street Reports of the City Marshal and the City Poundmaster for the month of :.'arch were read and ordered filed. The report of City Treasurer Lorenz for the quarter ending March 31st was read and ordered filed. The. application Of L.1v.whittaker for increase of 40 per month gay was taken under advisement. A communication received from the Cal.League of unicipal— ities explained the purpose of Assembly Bill No. 697, which provides for the publication of ordinances not less than three times in a news— papr, and -urged the City to protest against the same becoming a law. -Truste,• =ole ndorf moved, seconded by Trustee ?eeney,that the Board ccri ur in the views of the League and that the. President of the Board be authorized to wire the Governor and our reyresentatives in the Leg— islature the attitude of the City of Lodi on this question. The notion carried unanimously. The Board upon motion authorized President of the Board Tale to execute the usual annual transformer Contract with General Flectric Company. Trustee Black noved,seconded by Trustee. Polendorf,that inas— much as in the opinion of the Board City Scavenger G.r.Langley has not fulfilled his contract with the City h_s services be disconttirUed .rn— nediateiy.
