Municipal Buildiro,Lodi, Cal.,Jan.22, 1917.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in adjourned
session at 8:00 p.m. Present Trustees Hale, Black, Keeney, Deaver and
Folendorf.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Building permits were granted as follows:
S.W.Hopkins,to remodel barn and shed at 413 East Pine street.
E. P. Van Vlear, garage and shop at 354 East Va.nut street.
J. A. Klassen, temporary private garage 445 Tokay street.
S.E.Walter, remodel barn lot 9, block 8, East Lodi Addition.
C.E.Stemier, poultry house on North School Street on Amos
land.
Mrs. R.W.Bentley applied for position_of matron of the itr.i-
cipai Baths. The application was ordered filed.
The pacific Telephone 4 Telegraph Company having applied for
the purchase of a one-half interest in certain city poles on Daisy
Avenue and the alley between Lockeford and Elm streets, near Batchins
street, Trustee Folendorf moved, seconded.by Trustee Keeney, that sale
of a one-half interest in three poles be rade as applied for, and an
exchange of a one-half interest in one pole on Daisy avenue be effected
with the telephone company for a like interest in one Pole to_be set
by the said company on Daisy Avenue at Lincoln Avenue. The motion car-
ried unanimously.
The report of plumbing inspector Henning for the month of De-
cember, 1916, was read and ordered filed.
The following resolution was introduced, read and adopted:

BE IT RESOLVED that it is the intention of this Board of Trus-
tees of the City of Lodi to pave West Oak street in said City of Lodi,
and further to declare said West Oak street to be an Eighty -foot street
for its entire length, from Sacramento street on the East to Hutchins
street on tie West; and
a'FP.FAS, a portion Of said contemplated Eighty -foot street,
extending from Pleasant Avenue to said Hutchins street, is owned by
private parties whose lands abuts upon said Oak Street, -
IT IS THEREFORE FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of this Board
be, and he is hereby instructed to take the necessary steps to secure
deeds from said parties owning said land, and in the event that any of
the parties cwring said land (meaning a portion of said Eighty -foot
street) refuse to make and execute a deed to the City of,the same,
that the City Attorney be, and he is hereby instructed to commence con-
demnation proceedings against such owners withholding deeds.
Trustee Keeney roved, seconded by Trustee Folendorf, the
adoation of the resolution as read. The motion carried by the follow-
ing vote:
Ayes: Trustees Keeney, Polerdorf, Hale, Black and Deaver.

Absent: Fone.
It was regularly moved, seconded and carried that the Trus-
tees vote by ballot for their choice for caretaker and matron of the
Municipal Baths. The ballots having been canvassed it was found that
J.C.Ferguson and Yrs. Dora Stanfield had received a majority.
Trustee Deaver moved, secondee: by Trustee Keeney, that J.C.
Fer uson and Dora Stanfield be declared the appointees Of the
Board for the positions Of caretaker and matron of the Municipal Baths.
The motion carried unanimously.
Upon motion of Trustee Leaver, seconded by Trustee Black,
Charles Hamilton was appointed assistant caretaker of the baths.
A warrant was ordered drawn in favor of P.7.3eaty for 270.70
to pay for waterproofing the side walls and repairing roof and fire
wall of the City Fall.
