In regi1_,r session of the Board of Trustees cf the City cf
Lodi there were present Trustees Hale, Black, Keeney and Folendorf.
Trustee Deaver absent.
Minutes of the previous meeting; were read and approved.
Bui]ding permits were granted as follows:
H.M.Stanley, for T.J.Goodwin,add to dwelling; at 118 Test Elm
J. Y. ;'ipe, private stable at 703 South Stockton'street.
G. H. Moore, private garage at 205 Vest Oak street.
C._ .Ketchan, Supt. Southern 'Pacific Corparty, appeared before.
the Board and requested that sone definite action be taken in the
natter of his 'co npany's application of J111y 3, 1916, for a permit to
.wild a spur track cn the conpa- ''s property .:aralleling Main street
and crossing Eln, Pine, Oak and walnut streets in the City of Lodi.
After a discussion of the. ::atter Trustee Black moved, seconded by
Trustee Keeney, that the Southern Pacific Corlpary be denied a permit
to euild a spur track paralleling Main street and crossing Flr, P1ne
Oak and walnut streets in the City 'of Lodi. Theration, upon roll call,
was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees B1acI., Keeney, Fol-
endorf and Hale. Nays: None. Absent: Trustee Deaver.

and -urged the Board t o take steps irmediately to place an eight -
inch water main in the east side cf Sacramento street In order to
give proper facilities for fire protection in the business section.
}rte adoption of a proposed new fire ordinance which has been under
consideration for some time was also advocated by the co:•W.ittee.
In_ the ratter of seaurins tater for the swinuing tank from
the artesian well on the Sanguinnetti place the following -resolution
was intr0duced:
RESOLUTION.
It appearing to this Board of Trustees that Jeroaina San-
euinetti, Fred A. Sanuuinetti, Louis I. Sanguinetti, Henry J. San-
guinet.ti, Silvio T. Sangainetti, Arnie San uinetti, Rose Vignola and
Palmyra `.:aazzera cwn a certain tract cf land adjacent to the City of
Lodi or. the north, and that there is an artesian well upon said landx
from which water flows in sufficient Quantities and of SUCK tempera-
ture as to be of value t0 the City of Lodi, especially for uSe in the
municipal swir.rni•.:g pe of ; and
?:'tMr.EAS, it would be for the best interests of the City of
Lo.ii to mase said well for a period of at least fifteen years; and
WHEREAS, said owners are willing to'lase the same for a
rental of w8.00 per n .orth,-
NOW, THEREFORE, BF IT RESOLVED, that the City of Lodi lease
said well, together with a convenient space around the. saae, and also
a right of way tc and from said well, in which to lay not exceeding
two pine lines, and the rental for the same to be 48.00 per mond_,
payable to said owners at the time of the first regular meting of
the Board Pach month, and that the 'resident of this board be, and
he is hereby authorized to enter into a lease with said owners and
lease said well on behalf of the City of Lodi, to ether with a con-
venient Space about the. Sallie, ane a right Of way to and from ti -e same,
for a r•erioc of fifteen years, at said monthly rental of 48:00 per
month.
Trustee Keeney roved, seconded by Trustee Black, the adopt-
ion of the resolution as read. The notion carried by the following vote:
Ayes: __eery, Black, Hale and Foiendorf. Nuys: None. Absent: Deaver.
C. H. Suess requested the Board to place a portion of the
insurance to be carried o:: the new sr.•ir.•airg, tank, bui]ding with cot•:p —
les for which he is lccal agent. Referree to Public Utilities Cor_TMit-
tee.
The Southern Pacific Corpany offered to sell to the city a
S' eeaa er street sprinkling wagon for ;250. Referred to street com—
mittee. .
City Engineer Barzellotti having represented the. City at the
League of California Municipalities Convention at Visalia eub:nitted an
intereetire, report of the Proceedings of that Code which was read and
ordere. _ it"d.
The qearterly report Of the City Clerk for the period ending
June 70th was read and creeree film.
The City Clerf's annual retort for the fiscal year ending
Cane 30th, 1916, was presented and or.ered published a -cording to law.
