Trustee. Deaver abient. - Minutes of the previous meeting were rend and approved. • Builiing permits were granted as follows: Thos.. C. Hawley, add. to hatchery at 504 E. Elm Street E. 7. Van Vlear,for R. L. Graham, add to dwelling at 121 • . "+a1_^_ut Street. C. S. Lupton., woodshed at 222 East Pine street. Jots, W. Hieb, 'prick building on Lot 8, block 14,City of Lodi. A co :iinication from the Worans' Club recommending the em- ployment of a city 3cavebger w•.s re::d and ordered filed The Board of Health in a cors_ unication recommended the . m- ployrant of some one to regularly keep the City free from refuse and garbage. George D. Langley having offered to t'r.orouzhly scavenge the. city for a fonthly pay of 050, Trustee Keeney moved, seconded by Trustee Black, that Langleybe employed as soavenger at 050 per month providing ^e will put up a bond in the surra of 4'500 quaranteeing faithfUl performance for at least one year. The motion carried unanimously. - • The report of City Treasurer Lorenz for the quart=r ending • September 30th was read and ordered filed. The report of Sewer Inspector Henn':ng for tho month of Sep- tember ,was read and ordered fled. The Board of Freeholders filed a written report stating that it had been advised that owing to defects in the manner of taking the- census hecensus it would be useless to proceed further in the forriation of a city charter. TJpon motion of Trustee Folendorf, seconded by Trustee Keeney, the report of the Board of Freeholders was accepted ani or- dered Placed on file. R.. L. Patton, lessee of Smith's Lake Resort, asked the Board if there was liklihood of the City placing a dance platform in the municipal park during the coming sum'!er. 7e was assured by all members present that a dance platform would not placed in thepark. D. B. Doepke complained of conditions at the septic tank stating that the place was overgrown with weeds and a breeding place for mosquitos. Fie offeree to clean up the place and keep same in good condition for use of the land. The natter was referred to a committee of the whole. - Trustee Folendorf moved, seconded by Trustee•Black, that the Trustees and the t -'.ads 0: all departments who can do so attend the League of California Municipalities convention at Visalia, -the City to pay o.11 necessary expenses. The motion carried unanimously. Trustee Black moved, seconded by Trustee Keeney, that the Tokay band be allowed an additional 03 for each of twelve concerts, maki_n<; a total of 0240 for the season. Carried. Bilis amounting to 4.8bcr.97 were allowed and ordered paid. The Board adjourned. Attest: City Clerk.
