Pursuant to adjournment of August 21st the Board convened at
8:00 p.m. There were present Trustees Nile, Black, Keeney, Deaver and
Folendorf. .
'.,mutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
A permit was granted to A. H. Boese to construct a dwelling
on the- east 61 feet of the west 122 feet of. the Phillips land on the
south side of east Pine street.
Harry E. Balls applied for employment as engineer of the steam
roller or at.the water works. The application was ordered filed and
the cleric was instructed to acknowledge receipt of the sane.
G. E. Lawrence on behalf of the Board of Freeholedrs stated
to,the Board that legal advice is necessary at this time for comple—
tion of the proposed charter. and asked that the Board authorize the
employment of an attorney who specializes in the line of .municipal
law;,esti ating the expense to be approximately #300. The City Attor—
ney being absent action was deferred to be taken up at an adjourned
meeting Wednesday, August 30th.
Ernest M. Smith, ecretary of the Piedmont Athletic Associa=
tion. offered to put on a swimming meet for the opening of the Mixni—
cipai Swimming Pool. The communication was ordered filed and the clerk
instructed to correspond with the writer in regard to the same.
Upon motion the Board adjourned to meet again Wednesday, Aug.
30, 1916, at 8:00 p.. m..
