The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in adjourned
Session pursuant to adjournment of August 7th at 8:00 p. m. There
were present Trustees Folendorf, Black, Dea--er and Feeney. Trustee
Hale absent.
Minutes of tr previous meeting were read and approved.
The application of 0. R. Pearce for permit to build two poul-
try '.:ouses on lots 7 and 8 Brier • subdivision, was laid over one week
for irvestization.
Permission waa ;anted J. D. Grose to build a church on the
west 60 feet of lot 8 in '_lock 39.
Fred Hieb was granted permission to tear .'own a building at
the corner of West Elm and School 3tr=ets.
J. J. Williams applied for employr.ent as driver of a sprink-
lirgwagon w_,1ch application was ordered filed.
Fire Chief Stark was granted leave of absence for ten days to
attend the Pacific Coast Fire Chiefs' Convention at San Diego August
18th .
The report of Plumbing Inspector Henning for the month of July
was read and ordered filed.
Richard Squires made complaint that the sewer in the rear of
his place between_ Pine and Oak streets was frequently out of repair
and requ,sted the Board to take some action toward having the same
remedied. The ratter was referred to Superintendent Henning and the
Public Utilities Committee.
Pursuant to the call for bids of July 27th, as sing for propos-
als for furnishing all materials and labor necessary for the construc-
tion of t'fle building enclosing, and roof covering, the Municipal Swim -
min;; pool in accordance witi: plans and specifications prepared by the
City Engineer proposals v.r, received as follows:
Senner, 48995; (provid'_n30 days additional time allowed
for completion).
P. G. Cary, :10112.
w. D. Voorhies a.' Son, ::9270; (or 42000 less providing wooden
trusses are used).
The bids being all considerably in excess Of tn.? Engineer's
estLat'e Trustee D,aver rrovei, seconded by Trustee Black, that all
bids be rejected, and the guarantee checks be returned to bidders.
