The Board of Trustees. of the City of Lodi convened pursuant to
acjoirnmrnt of June 19th at 8:00 p.m. There were present Trustees ?sale,
Ken=y, Deaver and Folendorf. Trustee Black absent.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Th' application of Jacob G. Hieb and Gottleib G. Hieb for a ,hole—
sale liquor license at 19 W. Elm St., accompanied by a bond approved by
the President of the Board, having been advertised the required length
of time and no protests having been filed, upon motion of Trustee Fol—
endorf; seconded by Trustee Keeney, the license was granted.
The application of C. J. Bender for a wholesale liquor license
at 21 North Sacramento street, accompanied by a bond approved by the

time and no protests having been filed, upon notion of Trustee Keeney,
e ontled by Trustee Folendorf, the license was granted.
The application of Lodi Soda WorRs 1 Ice Depot, for a wholesale
liquor license at 200 South Sacramento street, accompanied by a bond
approved b'. the -President of th-. Board; !caving been advertised •the re—
quired length of time and no protests having been filed, upon notion
of Trustee Deaver, seconded by Trustee Keeney, the license was granted.

The application of Wilkinson 1 Wilkinson for a wholesale liquor
license at 11 South SacrLmento street, accompanied by a bond approved
by the President of the Board, having bean advertised the required length
of time and no protests having been filed, upon motion'of Trustee Folen-
dorf, seconded by Trustee Keen, -y, the license was granted.
The application of A. F. Kavanaugh for a saloon license at 27
North Sacramento street,accompanied by a bond approved by the President
of the Board, raving bean advertised according to the provisions of Or-
dinance :To. 78 and no protests having been filed, upon motion of Trustee
K-eney, s �conded by Trustee Deaver, the license was granted.
The application of ;S. D. Duffy fora saloon license at 25 North
Sacramento street, accompanied by a bond'approved by the President of
the Board, having been advertised according to the provisions of Ordin-
ance No. 78, and n0 protests having been filed, upon motion of Trustee
Folendorf, seconded by Trusta6 Deaver, the license was granted.
The application of Robert :d. Combs for a saloon license at No. 7
South Sacramento street, accompanied by a bond approved by the Presi-
dent of the Board, having been advertised according to the provisions of
Ordinance No. 78 and no protests having been filed, upon notion of Trus-
tee Deaver, seconded by Trustee Folendorf, the license was granted.
Trustee Deaver moved, seconded by Trustee Folendorf, that the
City Marshal be required to serve a tiwrittpn notice upon all __olders of
liquor llcanses that the provisions of Ordinance No. 78 will be strictly
enforced during th^ coming year. The motion was carried.
Tho, following resolution was introduced and read:
WHEREAS, this Board, by resolution duly passed and adopted on the
21st day of April, A.D.1915, accepted thf offer of The California Camp
Meeting Ground Association to sell to the City of Lodi that certain lot,
piece or parcel of land, situated in the City of Lodi, County of San
Joaquin, State of California, described as follows, to -wit: -
Block 32, of the City of Lodi (formerly town of Mok,-lumne) as
d=signated on the ;dap and Field Notes of the Townsits of Mokelumne,filed
vTitq tine Recorder of San Joaquin County, Jhly 17, 1859, by the Western
Pacific Railroad Company, now Soutnern Pacific Company; and
WHEREAS, under the terms of said Resolution Eight Thousand Dollars
($8000.00) was appropriated and set aside from the ganeral fund for the
purchase of said Block; and
WHEREAS, the President of this Board of Trustees, pursuant to
said resolution, entered into a valid agreement for the purchase of �.
said Black for said sum of Eight Thousand Dollars ($8000.00) and ad- '..
vaned and paid thereon tha sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00), the
balance to be paid when a full and complete abstract is furnished,show-
in_-� good and merchantable title in the owner; and
tv- .. I S, such abstract has been furnished, and, in the opinion
of the City Attorney of said City of Lodi, the title to said Block is
good and m-rcha.ntable ; and
1AIM .FAS, said The California Camp Me?ting Ground Association
has tendered a food and sufficient deed of said described Block to this
Board of Trustees,-
PTOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the delivery of said deed be
accepted, and a warrant be drawn in the usual manner for the balance,
to -wit, the sum of $7900.00, of said sum so set aside from the general
fund, in favor -of said The California Camp Meeting Ground Association,
and the same be delivered to said The Califorria Camp Meeting Ground
Association upon, the delivery of said Deed to this Board of Trustees.
BE IT FURTHER'RESOLVED, AND ORDERED; that a warrant for $100 be
drawn in favor of the President of this Board as reimbursement for the
amount advented,'as above stated.
Trustee Keeney moved, seconded by Trustee Deaver, the adoption
of the above resolution as read. The motion carried by the following
vote: Anes: Trustees Ka,-ney, Deaver, Folendorf, Hale. Nays: bone. Ab-
sent: Trustee Black.
A building permit was granted to John Wittma.yer for the con-
struction of a private garage on lot 7, block 1�1, at 303 E.Elm St.
The Secretary or the Lodi Volunteer Fir,- Department reported to
the Board that the following officers were elected to carry on the
work of the Department for the coming year:
Pro:3id,-nt, F.H.:dcLachlan; Vice -President ,A.P.Wakefield; Secre-
-ary, :'1.�T.Faust; Treasurer, H.E.Vl lch; Firs Chief, E.H.Stark;First
Assistant Chief, Georgi Hunting; Second Assistant Chief, G.A.Gerlach.
Upon motion of Trustee Ke?_ney, seconded by Trustee Deaver, the
selection of the above-named officers was approved and confirmed.
Chief Stark of tre Fire Department reported to the Board that
J.W.Irey. and O.W.Siagalkoff had been appointed Fire Uarshals for the
ensuiri-- rear and requested that they be given aut'nority of re�.:lar
peace odic,-rs and be iworn in as sucY Jo action was taken.

am In regard to grade crossings In the City of Lodi.
Superintendent Henning recommended that the Board make arrange—
ments to install electric stoves on a monthly payment plan 1n an effort
to ercourag-� tri? use of electric appliances for cooking and thereby in—
crease the business of the electric department. The recommendation was
ordered moiled.
Labor and salary claims amounts -Z to $901.56 mere allowed and
ordered paid.
