The Board of Trustees of the City ofLodi convened in reTular
session at q:00 D. m. There vera present Trustees Hale, Black, Keeney,
Deaver and Folendorf.
Minutes of the Previous meeting ware read and approved.
The annual report of F1re Chief Stark WR3 read and ordered filed.
H. 1. Markham and Chas. Freshour applied for positionas at the
city park, which anplicatians 'vara ordered filed. -
Pursuant to the call for blas of April 17th 'Proposals were re-
ceived for furnishing a complete asphalt paving plant and a com^leta
corcreta paving rla.rt from the following firms: Edward R. Ba^on Co.,
A. L. Young Machinery Co., Harron, Rickard & McCone , nTorris' K. Davis,
Clark 3: ?erery Construction: CO., Geiger Iron Worizs, J. H. Hansen Co.,
Eaton T4 Smith and Ransome Concrete UaChinery Company. Upon motion no
award was made, the nror.osals being taken under advisement for a Per-
iod of ter days.
H. E. Hilts of the Portland Ce:n't Company addressed the Board
unor the advantages of co'_'lcrate for pavements.
The written rasiznation of George W. LaMoin as member of the
Libr2~v Board was read and. uncn motion of Trustee Deaver, seconded
by Trust-» Keeney, ^ras accented.
D. B. Rinfret, agert of the California Traction Company, in
a written communication, annealed to the Board to stop' the practice
of Kramer Brothers, owners of the auto stage line from Lodi to Stock-
ton,so1i^iting business in the Traction Company's waiting room. The
communication was ordered filed.
Hiss Clara L. Clum, of 226 N. Schools St. , 3uggested to the
Board the establishment of a children's play ground in the City Park
and asked for employment as rnagager of the same. The com unication
was ordered Sled.
Labor claims amounting to .1107.35 were allowed and ordered
paid.
Upon motion regularly made, seconded and carried, the Board
adjourned to Monday, ;.tay 22, 1916, at 8:00 p.m.
