The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in regular session at 3:00 p.m., there being present Trustees Hale, Black and Keeney; Trustees Folendorf and Deaver absent. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Building permits were granted as follows: Earl Fruit Company, addition to fruit shed at Pine and Main Sts. E. G. Steacy, private garage at 417 West Oak street G. Garofalo, private stable at 105 East Lodi -Avenue. Mary A. Larson, to repair foundation to building at 10 N. Main St. J. R. Hepper, addition to dwelling at 408 East Locust St. Jos. W. Crose and Geo. S. Long applied for employment as super- visor of the public park and swimming tank, which applications were ordered filed. Mrs. Ardella Williams applied for water service at 629 North Church street, outside the city limits. Chairman Black of the Com- mittee on Public works instructed the clerk to notify applicant that water service could not be given outside the city limits. The City Marshal's report for the month Of April was read and ordered filed. The President of the Board presented a duly executed agreement for the purchase of the Church of God Grove from the California Camp Meeting Ground Association, as authorized by a resolution adopted by the Board of Trustees April lst. A petition signed by John Bauer and others asking for the op- ening of an alley between Lockeford and Locust streets, from Pleasant Avenue to Hutchins street, was read and ordered filed. A. L. Levin_sky, attorney for W. T. Owens, filed a petition praying for Permission to build a spur track from the California Trac- tion Comaary's railroad on North Sacramento street to the property of Petitioner, being lots Nos. 1, 2 and 3, block 8, Moran -Handle Tract. The following resolution was introduced by Trustee Keeney: BEFORE THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF LODI, COUNTY OF SAN JOA- QUIN, STATE OF CALIFORNIA. In the .Matter of the Appld.cation) -of-•) Tff.. T. OWENS, For a Spur Track. W. T. OWENS, having on the 1st day of bay, 1916, filed his petition with this, the Board of -Trustees, of the City of Lodi, County of San Joaquin, State of California, praying for an ordinance granting to him, his heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, the right, Privilege and permission to construct, lay down, and maintain, a railroad track of standard gauge, and to pass with, and operate, with locomotives and cars, propelled by steam, electri- city, or other lawful motive power, over, along, upon and across, cer- tain streets portions of streets, and other places in the city of Lodi, County of San Joaquin, State of California, and he having at the same time and place presented to,and filed with, this, the Board of Trustees, of the City of Lodi, an Ordinance in accordance with the prayer of his said petition, and under and by the Charter of the said City of Lodi no action can be taken on said ordinance, until five (5) days shall have elapsed since the introduction ard.filing of the same; NOW, THEREFORE, this, the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, does hereby fix Monday, the 8th., day of May, 1916, at .the hour of 8:00 o'clock P. M., of said day, at the Chambers of this, the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, in the City Hall, of the City of Lodi, as the time and place for hearing the aforesaid petition, and the aforesaid Ordinance. Dated, this 1st., day of May, 1916. Trustee Keeney moved, seconded by Trustee Black, the adoption of the resolution_ as_read. The motion was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Keeney, Black and Hale. Nays: gone. Absert: Trustees Deaver and Folen_dorf.
