Municipal Building, Lodi, Cal. April 17,1916
The newly -elected Trustees, Charles A. Black and E. 11. Keeney,
raving taken the oath of office, the Board of Trustees was called
to order for organization at 9:30 P. m. by the City Clerk. Nomina-
tions for President of the Board for the ensuing two -years'beirg de-
clar?d In order, Trustee Bale was placed in nomination. There were
no furtn-r nominations, and by a unanimous vote o� the Board Trustee
Sale was re-elected to the position of President.
W. R. Parker, of Stockton, applied for a -;ermit to erect sign-
boards uT>o- the property of 1. H. "!alter, on East Lodi Avenue , and
Xules Perrin, - on South Sacramento street. Upon motion t P, permit
was denied.
The official bond of City Treasurer Lorenz was presented and
read and uDor rollcall was unanimously accepted and ordered filed,
with the City Clerk.
. B. Colemen, in a written commur_ication, offered to sell to
the City a -piece of land of about two acres, fronting on North
Church and :Tcrth schools streets, as a site for the proposed muni-
cipal swimrlrg tank, for X3000, offering to take in exchange land
at the septic tank site. The offer was taken under advisement.
A cormunication from Wm. C. Merrill asking for steriopticon
slides to be used ir_ an illustrated lecture on California, to be
d,Pliv?rid in Eastern States, was ordered. referred to the Chamber of
Correrce.
The matter of the purchase of the Church of God grove to be
used for a. city park was taken up and discussed informally, the
grove Caving been offered to the City at the price of $8000. Trus-
te3 Daaver suggested that the Southern Pacific lands in the center
of the city should be procured for the purpose of a public park, the
railroad yards, depots and fruit sheds to be removed to locations
further out.
Upon motion of Trustee Black, seconded by Trustee Keeney, the j.
Board a-.1journed to Wednesday, April 19, 1916.
