The Board of Trustees oP the City of Lodi convened in regular session at 8:00 p.m. There were present Trustees Hale, Black, Keeney, Dearer and Folendorf. • Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The following building permits were granted: W. P. Lancaster,for Ernest West, dwelling on lot 13 Brier Subdivision. Emma Boyce, poultry house at 23 North Church street. W.J.Robir_son Jr., garage at 424 East Oak street. L. F. Jensen, poultry house at 428 South School street. L. F. Jensen, garage at 428 South School street. Japanese Association of L. A. W., buildhg to be used as a kindergarten, at 228 North Cherokee street. The State Conpensation Insurance Fund called attention to the matter of proper insulation of electric wires in the sub -station .which was referred to Superintendent Henning for his attention. Harry Williams applied for employment driving one of the street sprinkling wagons during the coming summer. The application was ordered filed. The quarterly report of City Treasurer Lorenz was read and ordered Tiled. F. J. Beaty asked the Board to provide for the sprinkling of Lodi avenue and for the placing of a street light at the intersec- tion of Washington street and Lodi avenue. The matter of street sprinkling was referred to the Street Committee. The matter of lighting of Lodi avenue was discussed and P. J. Aeat,T was authorized to ascertain how many residents on that street would agree to install porch lights at a cost of 10 cents per month each, with the understanding that if the experiment proves satisfac- tory tho system would be extended to other•parts of the city. At the request of the Board of Health the Bofird of Trustees decided to hereafter operate a wagon for the disposal of rubbish which cannot be burned; such rubbish to be piled in the alleys in boxes or sacks so as to be easily accessible to the wagon driver. The matter was placed in the hands of the street committee. Miscellaneous claims against the city amounting to'$4049.68 were allowed and ordered paid. The Board adjourned. Att-st: City Clerk. s
