The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in regular
session at 8:00 p.m., there being present Trustees Hale, Black., Keeney,
Deaver and Polendorf.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The following building permits were granted:
0.A.Schroeder, apartment house on lot 3, Larson's Pine Street
Addition.
C.I.Rice, for J.B.Yelson, dwelling on lot 8, Larson's Pine
Street Addition.
San Joaquin County Table Grape Growers! Association, to re—
model fruit shed Lockeford Street.
A. E. Linde, dwelling lot 21, block 5, Barnhart Tract.
John P. Blakely, private garage at 417 W. Walnut Street.
A. H. Bull, to remodel dweling at 303 East Lodi Avenue.
Perrin Brothers, stable on lot 3, Block 29, City of Lodi.
E.Y.vanvlear, to remodel dwelling 356 East Walnut Street.
C.S.Lupton, remodel apartment house at 222 East Pine street.
Wong You Chong, remodel and construct addition to store at
14 North Main street on Priedberger property.
A communication from James Clausen of Sacramento regarding the
proposed municipal swimming tank was read and ordered filed.
A letter of thanks from the Chamber of Commerce for an appro—
priation of 4300 for promotion work was read and ordered filed.
Upon motion of Trustee Keeney, seconded by Trustee Deaver,
Chief Stark was authorized to purchase an -expander for use of the fire
department.
C.C.Woodworth of the Public Utilities Committee of the Chamber
of Commerce addressed the Board advocating the adoption of a resolution
placing upon the ballot at the April election the following proposition:
"Shall the Board of Trustees appropriate 410,000 as the City's share of
the cost of a subway on Pine street, between Sacramento and Main streets?"
The matter of placing the question upon the ballot was opposed
by W. A. Morehead, S.W.McCleary, C.L.Van Buskirk, G.W.LeMoin, C.R.Van
Buskirk., A. M. Tower, D.W.Bird, J.C.Burson, Mrs. J.C.Burson, J.M.Blod—
gett, and F. J. Beaty.
A resolution having for its object the placing of the above
question upon the ballot was introduced and read, and upon motion of
Trustee Deaver, seconded by Trustee Black, was laid on the table in—
definitely.
A deed, accompanied by certificate of title, whereby Perrin
Brothers conveyed to the City of Lodi a certain piece of land in block
29 was presented, and their claim for the purchase price, 4700, was
allowed and ordered paid with the understanding that a minor correction
shoal: be made in the deed. The above action was taken upon motion of
Trustee Black, seconded by Trustee Deaver, which motion was carried

Superintendent Henning was authorized to purchase from the Game—
well 71re Alarm company an -attachment for the transmitter box of the
fire alarm.
Bills amounting to 41863.70 were allowed and ordered paid.
