Municipal Building,
Lodi,California February 28, 1916.
The Board'of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in adjourned
regular session at 8:00 p.m., there being present Trustees Hale, Black.,
Keeney, Deaver and Folendorf.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Building permits were granted as follows:
Mrs.W.H.Sherman, addition to dwelling at 411 East Flora St.
F.G.Cary, to remodel dwelling at 121 West Pine St.
E.J.Hatton,dwelling lot 6, block 8,Hutchins Oak St.Addition.
E.J.Hatton,garage lot 6, block 8, Hutchins Oak St. Addition.
Richard Squi.re,dwelling lot 3, block 4,City of Lodi.
W.D.Voorl^.ies & Son, bakery lot 3, block B,Bartlhart Tract.
In the Matter of W.J.Robinson for a spur track:
RESLOVED, That it appearing to the satisfaction of this, the
Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, County of San Joaquin, State of
California, by the affidavit of F.P.Roper, the principal clerk of the
printer and publisher of the Lodi Sentinel, that Ordinance No. 84 has
been printed and published in the Lodi Sentinel, which is a newspaper
of general circulation, printed and published tri -weekly, in the City
of Lodi, County of San Joaquin, State of California, for one time, in
the manner required by law, in accordance with this, the Board of Trus-
tees of the City of Lodi, which said resolution was duly passed and ad-
opted et a due and regular meeting of this Board of Trustees, held on
the 21st day of February, 1916;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That this, the Board of Trustees of
the City of Lodi,County of San Joaquin, State of California, does find,
and it is hereby found as a fact, that Ordinance No. 84 has been pub-
lished for the time, and in the manner required by law;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that said Ordinance No. 84 having been
finally passed by this, the Board of Trustees of the said City of Lodi,
be, and the same hereby is, finally passed and approved by this, the
Board ofTrusteea of the City of Lodi, and the President of this Board
of Trustees be, and he hereby is, ordered and directed to approve the
same.

The motion of Trustee Deaver, seconded by Trustee Keeney,that
the abova resolution be aopted as read was carried by the following v
vote: Ayes: Hale,Black,Keeney,Deaver and Folendorf. Noes: None.

Gentlemen:
I, the undersigned, W.J.Robinson, to whom your Honorable Body
granted a Franchise, in, by and under Ordinance No. 84, passed by
your Honorable Body, do hereby file my written acceptance of the
aforesaid Ordinance.

Ordinance No. 84, in, by and under which W.J.Robinson was
granted a Franchise having been finally passed and adopted by this,
the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, and said -W. J:.Robinson
having-, at a due and regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the
Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, held on the 28th day of Feb-
ruary, 1916 filed his written consen` to the aforesaid Ordinance,
as required by the said Ordinance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the written acceptance
of the said W. J. Robinson, to the aforesaid Ordinance be, and the
sane r_ereby is, received, filed and made a matter of record herein.

RESOLUTION.
WHEREAS, Henry Perrin an: Jules Perrin, both of Lodi, Cali-
fornia, a copartnership doing business under the name of Perrin
Brothers, did, on December 31st, 1915, offer and agree to sell to
the City of Lodi, a certain strip of land in Block No. 30, City of
Lodi, with a barn thereon, for the sum of 5700; and
WHEREAS, The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, in ad-
journed regular session this 28th day of February, 1916, believing
that the purchase of the above mentioned land, more particularly
described as all that portion of Lot Number Two (2), Block No.Twenty-
A7ine ( 29"), City of Lodi. lying east of the One -Quarter Section
line of Section 1, Township 7 North, Range 6 East, M. D. M., and

the zest 2.55 feet of Lot Number 3'hree (7,), Block No.nventy-Nine.(29)
City of Lodi, would be for the best interests of the City of Lodi,
therefore be it,
RESOLVED, That the land offered is -desirable and necessary fur
the use of the City of Lodi; the price, Seven Hundred Dollars ($700),
iF lust and reasonable; and there is hereby appropriated and set apait
frog moneys now in the general Hind of the treasury of -the. -City of Lodi
the Qum^_ of 4700 for such purchase, the same to be paid upon a claim
regilarly filed and approved by the finance committee of the -Board of
Trustees, upon the delivery to the City of Lodi of a good and suffi-
cient deed- of conveyance.
Trustee, Keeney moved, seconded by Trustee Folendorf-, the adop-
tion of the above resolution. The motion was carried by the affirma-
tive votes of Trustees Hale, Black, Keeney, Deaver and Folendorf..
RESOLUTION.
W41EREAS, The Chamber of Commerce of Northern San Joaquin County,
an organization of citizens of Lodi and vicinity, formed for the pur-
)ose of T)romoting the welfare of this city and the surrounding country,
has asYed the Board of Trustees for an appropriation from the city
treasury to assist in its work; be it
RESOLVED, That the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi does
hereby endorse and commend the good work that has been done by the
above named organization;
That we feel the thanks of this Board and the entire community
should be extended to the members thereof through whose efforts Lodi
and Vorthern San Joaquin County has been advertised to the world as a
live and prosperous commmtnity, a good place to live and enjoy all mod -
err: advantages;-
That the sum of $300 is hereby appropriated from the general
fund of the city treasury to assist the Chamber of Commerce in carry-
ing on the work of promotion and imprcvem?nt in this locality.
Trustee Folendorf moved, seconded by Trustee Black, the adopt-
ion cf the above resolution_ as read. The motion ivas carried by the,
affirmative votes of Trustees Hale, Black, Keeney, Deaver and Folen-
dorf.

The amounts credited to the various funds by the City Treasur-
pr,uron order of the City Clerk, being $177.22 over in the Library
=une: 1555.91 over In. the Bond Interest and Redemption Fund and the
sums of these two items, 5736.13, snort in the General Fund; there-
fore be it
RESOLVED, By the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi that
the City Tr4asurer be, and he is hereby directed to transfer the sum
of 9177.22 from the Library Fund to the General Fund and $558.41 from
the 7or_L.Interest and Redemption Fund to the General Fund; the City
Clerf and the City Treasurer to make the necessary entries in their
accounts and the reasons therefor.
Trustee Folendorf moved the adoption of the above resolution
as r-nd. Seconded by Trustee Keeney. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes -Trustees Hale, Black, Keeney, Deaver and Folendorf.
A resolution having for its purpose the submission of a pro-
pcsed ?rn:.nicipal swimming tank to a vote of the people at the muri-
cirel z.1,-ct1on April 10, 1916, was, upon motion. of Trustee Keeney, _
seconded by Trustee Black, laid on the table till the next meeting
of .the Board.

for the organization, incorporation and government of municipal
co-norations,° provides that cities of the sixth class shall, on the
second ':-.o'?dav in April in each even -numbered ,year, hold general mu-
nici'oal elections in suoh cities; t.,erefore be it

notice according to law of a General Municipal Election to be held
in and for said City of Lodi on Monday, the 10th day of April,1916.

That for the purpose of said election Lodi No. 1 Precinct and
Lodi No. 5 Precinct shall be and constitute Consolidated Election
Precinct No. 1.
. That Lodi No. 2 Precinct and Lodi No. 5 Precinct shall be and
constitute Consolidated Electior. Precinct No. 2.
That Lodi No. 6 Precinct and Lodi No. 7 Precinct ,shell be and
constitute Consolidated Election Precinct No. 3.
.That Lodi No. 4 Precinct and Lodi No.. a Precinct s.11411 be and
constitute Consolidated Election Precinct. No. 4.
That the polling place in Consolidated Election Precinct No.l
shall be the County Building, at 215 North Sacramento street, between
1 Locust and Lockeford streets.
That the polling place in Consolidated Election Precinct No. 2
shall be Fmerson Grammar School, Hutchins street, between Pine and
Elm streets.
That the polling place in Consolidated Election Precinct No. 3
shall be Steacy Building, No. 10 South Juin street, betwoen Pine and
Oak streets.
That the polling place in Consolidated Election Precinct No. 4
shall be Pioneer Fruit Shed, East Lodi Avenue, between Sacramento
street and Main street.
That the officers of election in Consolidated Election Pre-
cinct No. 1 shall be:
Inspectors: John_ F. Stein and W. A. Schwimley.
Judges: Robert Adams and Chas. A. Pratt.
Clerks: Mrs. J. L. Declusin and Mrs. Bertha Abshire.
That the officers of election in Consolidated Election Precinct No.
2 shall be:
Inspectors: John Willms and J. C. Ferguson.
Judges: C. C. Garner and Alida I. wavers.
Clerks: Frank F. Titus and G. W. Dewey.
That the officers of election in Consolidated Election Pre-
cinct No. 3 shall be:

Judges: J. W. Crose and Mrs. Dora Stanfield.
Clerks: Mrs. F. Luella Mayginnes and Miss Carrie Ellis.

cinct No. 4 shall be:

The above resolution was read and upon motion of Trustee
Keened*, seconded by Trustee Folendorf, was adopted by the following
vote: Ayes -Hale, Black, Keeney, Deaver and Folendorf.'Noes-None.
A communication was read from the State Compensation Insurance
Fund advising the City that it should file "EmployersI Unlimited Writ-
ten Acceptance of Compensation Provisions of Workmenst• Compensation,
Insurance and Safety Act." The letter was accompanied by a form for
such acceptance which, upon motion of Trustee Keeney, seconded by
Trustee Black, the President of the Board was authorized to sign upon
behalf of the City.
