The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in regu-
lar session at 8:00 p.m., all members present.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Building permits were granted to the following:
W.S.Lumsder_, stable at 528 East Locust street.
D.T.Scoggins,stable corner Daisy ave. and Lincoln ave.
5. B. Wilson, shed at 405 East Walnut street.
The request of Ada I. Harris for water service at her resi-
-� .dente on Maple street, east of•Central avenue, outside the city lim-
its', was referred to the Public Utilities Committee.
A petition, signed by 35 citizens, asking for the appointment
of A. H. Whiting to the position of tree warden, was read and ordered
filed.
The application. of J.F.Marvin for appointment as tree warden
was read and ordered filed.

In the matter of the Application of W. J. Robinson for a
Spur Track. -
W. J. Robinson, having on the 7th day of February, 1916,filed
his petition withthis, the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi,
County of San Joaquin, State of California, praying for an ordinance
granting to him, his heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns,
the right, privilege and permission to construct, lay down, and mair-
tain, a railroad track of standard gauge, and to pass with, and oper-
ate,with locomotives and cars, propelled by steam, electricity, or
other lawful motive power, over, along, upon and across, certain
streets, portions of streets, and other places in the City of Lodi,
County of San Joaquin, State of California, and or. the 14th day of
February, 1916, the said w. J. Robinson presented to, and there was
filed with, this, the Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi, an Of-
dinance in accordance with the prayer of his said petition, and more

than Five (5) days having elapsed and passed since the introduction .
and filing of the aforesaid with this, the Board of Trustees of the
City of Lodi, and the said -Ordinance which is No. 84, having been
duly considered at this meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City
of Lodi, and it appearing to the satisfaction of this Board of Trus-
tees, -that the said W. J. Robinson is entitled to have the said Or-
dinance granted, and that the said Ordinance is just, proper and
legal:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the aforesaid Ordin-
ance No. 84, be, and the same hereby is; Ordered, to be published
once in the Lodi Sentinel, a newspaper of general circulation,.
printed and published in the City of Lodi, County of San Joaquin,
State of California, and that said Ordinance shall take effect upon
the completion of such publication, and upon being signed and ap-
proved by the President of this Board, the Board of Trustees of the
City of Lodi, who is the executive of said City of Lodi.

Trustee Keeney moved, seconded by Trustee Folendorf; the
adoption. of .the above resolution. The motion was carried by the fol-
lowing vote:
Ayes- Trustees Hale, Black, Keeney, Deaver and Folendorf.
Noes- Yone.
Absent- None.
Superintendent Henning and Engineer Barzellotti reported
storm sowers in West Oak, South Church, North School St.and the Loc-
ust-Lockeford street alley; also sanitary sewers in the Schroeder
Tract, north of Elm street, completed as ordered by the, Board.This
report also carried the recommendation that sanitary sewers be con-
structed in the section between Elm and Oak streets, HiAchins and
Rose streets, to connect with the 18 -inch sewer in Hutchins street.
Trustee Deaver moved, seconded by Trustee Folendorf, that the Supt.
of Pub)_ic Utilities be instructed to proceed with the work as recom-
mended. Th- motion was carried unanimously.
F. J. Beaty presented the Board of Trustees season tickets
to'a Socialist Lyceum Course of three lectures to be given at Beck-
man -Thompson Hall February 28th, %+:arch 6th and March 13th.
The Lodi Belief Association, represented by T.S.Montgomery,
F. A. Dougn?rty Jr and Mrs. 0._ H. Wells, asked the Board to make an
appromriation from the City Treasury to be used for charitable work
in the City ofLodi. The matter was taken undr advisement.
Upon motion regularly made and seconded.,the Clerk was in-
structed to have drawn, a resolution appropriating $300 to the Cham-
ber of Commerce for promotion work.
In the matter of the purchase by the City of a strip.of land
from Perrin. Brothers, Trustee Black moved, seconded by Trustee Keeney,
the necessary st?ps be taken at once to purchase the land referred to

Labor claims amounting to $742_65 were allowed and ordered

paid. -
The Board adjourned to meet again 120. y, FAb 28th, 1916,
