The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi 7convened pursuant
to adjournment of February 7th at 8:00 p.. m. There were present Trus-
tees Black, Keeney, Deaver and Folerdorf. President of the Board Hale
being absent Trustee Black was elected temporary chairman.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
ORDINANCE NO. 84,
elAn ordinance granting to W. J. Robinson, his heirs, executors,
administrators and assigns, the right, privilege and permission to
construct, lay down and maintain, a railroad track, of standard gauge,
and to pass with, and operate, with locomotives and cars, propelled
by steam, or other lawful motive power, over, along, upon and across,
certain streets, portions of streets, and other places in the City of
Lodi, County of San Joaquin, State of California," was introduced and
read and upon motion of Trustee Keeney, seconded by Trustee Deaver,
was ordered laid on the table for not less than five days.
W. J. Robinson & Son were granted a permit to construct a
building of concrete, concrete blocks and corrugated iron, to be used
for warehouse purposes on lot 7, block 25, City of Lodi.
W. J. Robinson & Son were also granted a permit to construct
a building of wood and iron, to be used for storage of coal and wood,
on lot 8, block 25, City of Lodi.
The Chamber of Commerce, through its president B. A. Towne,
and J. M. McMahon, requested the City to appropriate $400 to be used
for promotion work by the Chamber of Commerce. Referred to Committee
of the Whole.
J. M. McMahon, W. A. Schwimley and others requested the city
to take up the matter of straightening School street north of Locke-
ford street. The matter was taken under advisement.
Upon motion of Trustee Deaver, seconded by Trustee Folendorf,
it was decided to call a meeting of citizens at Becicnen-Thompson Hall,
Thursday evening February 17th for the purpose of discussing matters
pertaining to the election of a Board of Freeholders to frame a char-
ter for the City of Lodi.
Bills amounting to *265.77 were allowed�and ordered paid.•
