The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in regular session at 8:00 p.m. There were present Trustees Hale, Keeney, Deaver and Polendorf. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The following building and -removal permits were granted: W. F. Bull, to remove dwelling from 512 East Oak street -to - 429 East Lodi Avenue. L. E. McClung, for C.D.Powell, apartment house on lot 8,block 9, City of Lodi. J. V. Bare, addition to private garage at 413 West Walnut St. Ross W. Young applied for permit to construct a building to be used for a clewing and dye shop on lot 6, block 7, Barnhart Tract; also permit to carry fifty gallons of gasoline for cleaning at same location. Referred to Committee on Public Health and Safety for action. The reports of plumbing iaspector Henning for October and Nov— ember were read and ordered filed. Report of City Marshal for -the month of November was read and ordered.filed. J..F..Blake],y, Secretary of the local Civil Service Board,asked for permission to use the Council Chamber for holding an examination of.applicants for positions in the Past Office Service December llth, and for other examinations in the future. Upon motion regularly made, seconded and carried, the permission was granted. The matter of drainage in the alley in rear of Tokay Theater was referred to the City Engineer and Superintendent of the sewer system. W. H. Lorenz informed the Board that the Lodi Investment Com— pany desired to build a pipe line from a point on one of the railroads to.Hotel Lodi to convey fuel oil and requested the Board to investigate the feasibility of laying pipe in the public streets and alleys. P. J. Beaty asked the Board to consider the matter of a re— duced rate for electricity for heating and cooking claiming the pres— ent rate of four cents 1s prohibitive. Bills amounting to $3451.45 were allowed and ordered paid. The Board adjourned. Attest: )Y 44,k/ City Clerk.
