The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in regular
session at 8:00 p.m. There were present Trustees Hale, Black, Fol-
endorf, Deaver and Keeney.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Building and removal permits were granted to the following:
D.W.Aronhalt (for Miss Bewley) dwelling on E.50 ft of W 100
ft of lots 12, 13 and 14, block 2, Cordier Tract.
A.M.Tower, to remove private garage, from 101 W. Elm St. to
300 W. Pine St.
B.C.Churchiran, woodshed and store house at 341 N.Church St.
L. T. Mason, store building on lot 3, block 21, on North
Sacramento St.
R. E. Rode, dwelling on lot 1, block 4, Moran -Handel Tract.
T.E.wilkinson, to remodel store at 29 N.Sacramento St.
H.E.Weishaar, poultry house at 501 Central Avenue.
A. S. Anderson applied for permit to store 225 gallons of
gasoline in an underground 'steel tank at his.garage on North School
street, which, upon motion regularly made, seconded and unanimously
carried, was granted.
George Lefebre was reappointed a member of the Board of Direc-
tors of the Lodi Free Library.
Police Officer Viers was granted a two week's leave 'of absence
beginning November 16th.
Prof. R. J. Custer addressed the Board on the question of ad-
opting a freeholders charter for the City pointing out the particu-
lar advantages it would give to the school system. J.M.McMahon out-
lined the manner of procedure necessary to change from government
under the Municipal Corporations Act to that of a special charter
and enumerated some of the benefits that would be derived from the
latter form of government.
George Hepper complained that a private stable in an unsani-
tary condition is located near his residence in Block 42 creating
a nuisance. He stated he wished to improve his property but does
not feel justified in so doing considering the unsanitary condi-
tion of this place, and requested the Board to take steps to rem-
edy the same. He was informed the matter would be referred to the
Board of Health.
J. M. McMahon stated that contrary to a published report the
Chamber of Cornneree is not at "logger heads', with the Board of
Trustees over the disposition of the swimming tank fund, and as-
sured the Board that the cordial relations heretofore existing be-
tween the two bodies would undoubtedly continue in the future.
Upon motion the Board adjourned until Tuesday, November 23,
1915, at 8:00 p.m.
