The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in regular
session at 8:00 o'clock: p.m. There were present Trustees Hale, Black,
Deaver and Keeney. Trustee Folendorf absent.
Tne•City Clerk being in attendance at the League of Califor-
nia Municipalities convention in Oakland Trustee Keeney-acted as
Clerk, pro tem. - -
Bids for 1000 feet of fire hose advertised for AvEust 21st
were received as follows:
United States Rubber Co.,"Paragon" g $1.10; "High Test" g 756'
Gutta Percha & Rubber 'Mfg. Co., "Princeter." g 800; "Rescue"
g Ice.
American Rubber Mfg CO., "Crackerjack" 'L 80�.
Bowers Rubber Works, "Victor Jacket" g 75¢.
The following firms submitted proposals for furnishing other
equipment and supplies advertised for in the call Of Aue.ist 21st:
Gorham Fire Apparatus Company.
Henderson Bros. CoI.pany. -
After due consideration the bid of Bowers Rubber Works for
1000 feet of "Victor Jacket" hose was on notion of Trustee Deaver,
seconded by Trustee Black:, duly accepted.
Upon motion of Trustee Deaver, seconded by Trustee Black, the
bid of Henderson Bros.Co:pany for other supplies and eouipment in-
cluded in the call of August 21st , was accepted.
The resignation of R. B. McClure as night man at the water
works and janitor of the City r:a11 was upon motion Of Trustee Black,
seconded by Trustee Deaver, accepted.
Upon motion of Trustee Black, seconded by Trustee Keeney,
R. B. 1.'.cClure was allowed full pay for the month of August, which
included two weeks vacation.
Miscellaneous claims against the city amounting to 03883.89
were allowed and ordered paid.
The following building permits were granted:
John Willms, add. to dwelling at 312 West Cal: street.
F. Couper, add. to dwelling at 315 South Schools street.
W.J.BarneS, repairs to d7elltng at 18 South School street.
P'.G.Cary, for D.:).Srnith, dwelling on lot 20, Mock: 2, West
Lodi Addition.
Easements from Central California Traction Company over
south 5 feet Of lot 1, block "B", Subdivision of Lot 72, Lodi Barn-
hart Tract; and from Millar & .Ster.art over south 5 feet of lots 3,
4 and 5, block "B", Subdivision Of Lot 72, Loi. Barnhart Tract ,were
acce .ted and referred bac}: for proper notary's certificates.
Easement from J. C. Ferguson over south 5 feet of lot 2, bloc}
"3", Subdivision Of Lot 72, Lodi Barnhart Tract, was accepted ;:nd or-
dere:.' recorded.
The City Clerk was instructed to have recorded a deed con-
veying to the City of Lodi the south 5 feet of the northeast j- Of
block 13, Lodi Barnhart Tract, for public alley.
The report cf the City Marshal for the month of August was
read and ordered filed.
The retort Of the PoundTiastcr for tee month of :august was
reads and ordered filed.
