Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in regu- lar session at 8:00 p.m. There were present Trustees Keeney, Black and roiendorf. Trustees Hale and Deaver absent. Trustee Keeney was elected to act as President pro tem. Minutes of the previous meeting were read.and approved. Building permits were granted as follows: Zas.Culbertson, for :_rs.C.W.Rathbun, dwelling on lot 1, block 2, Cordier Tract. Biggs Fruit Company, addition of platforms to fruit shed on lots 9, 10 and 11, block A, Barnhart Tract. Ira Y. Cross, foundation to dwelling at 437 E. Locust St. E. T. Wisner, for J.C.Craddock, dwelling on lot 8, block 3, Batnhart Tract. ='.`:'.Young, addition to dwelling on lot 6, block 7, Pan - hart Tract. George Hur.miel, private stale at 424 East Fine Street. A corrra:.nicatior fr:a the League Of California Municipali- ties announcing the annual convention to be held in Oakland September 7 to 11 was read and ordered filed. The Northern California Conference S.D.A. requested the Board to have removed a pole from the rear of their warehouse at 341 East Lodi Avenue. Upon motion the matter was laid over for investigation. A letter from the City Clerk of Paso Robles regarding their swimming tank waS read and ordered filed. A letter from the City Clerk Of Oakdale to J.M.McMahon of the. Chamber of Commerce giving information rer`.arding their mu- nicipal swimming tarp: was read and ordered filed. E.F.Goelzer, Chief Inspector of the State Compensation, In- surance :Fund, in a communication requested the City to provide means for first aid to the injured and rake changes looking to the safety o1 employees at the water ?Forks. The matter was re- ferred to Superintendent Henning with instructions to make the necessary corrections. =ire Chief Stark recommended the purchase by the City of new equipment for the fire department as follows: 1000 feet Of 21 inch fire hose (cotton). 6 fire hats (32 comb) . 6 fire coats (Globe pattern). 1 cellar nozzle (Fart pattern shut off). 2 shut off nozzles (Larkin I•To. 8). 2 couplings ( 1 twin- male : 1 twin female) . 1 gross 23 inch rubber gaskets. lie matter was referred to the Utilities Committee.
