The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened pursUart
to adjou.- ent of Jane 21st at 8:CO p.m. There were present Trus—
tees Hale, Black, Deaver, Keeney, and Foleridorf.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The matter of the applications of C. J. Bender and Jacob G.
Hieb for wholesale liquor licenses which were laid over from the
meeting of Surae 21st were taken up for consideration. The appli—
cants move named and their bondsI::en being present by invitation
of the Board Chairman Keeney of the Committee on Public Morals
and Safety stated that while no formal complaints had beer filed
as to vlolatIon, of the liquor ordinance it had been intimated
to Members of the Board that the provisions of Ordinance No. 7e
were not at all timpS strictly adhered to and that it was the
purpose of the Board to rigidly enforce the law in all resr•ects.
The applicants were admonished that all appearances of violations

must be dua-riled aga:in.t under penalty of revocat'lon of liCr]:Se3
and forfeitur*- of bonds. From the standpoint of the li _uor 6Aeal-
ers Adolph Bauer addressed the Board at lar.gtr, and rermrks Were
also ,rade by ^ar_ Soyer and Jacob G. Hieb.
The application of C. J. Bender ras taken up and being found
reollar and no protest having been filed, upon motion of Trustee
Kaen-y, seconded by Trustee Folendorf, the license. was granted.
The application o. Jacob G. Yieb being "bund recular and
no protest having been riled, uon. not_or. Of Trustee Folerdorf,
seconded by Trustee Keeney, the. lic-a se. ::%5 grunted.
The Lodi Senti]':e.l submitted a proposal for doing, the offi—
cial aavertising for tj:e fiscal year bekinn13--.6 , �Lii�' 1, 1915, as
follows: 75 cents per square for ti:e first insertion,; 5C cents
ter scuare for each subsecuent insertion. Tr.e ratter was referred
to a. corrjr-itte.e, of the Whole,.

Upon, motion the Board adjourned to meet again at 5:00 p.m.
