The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in reg- ular session at 8:00 p.m. There were present Trustees Hale, Black, Deaver, Keeney and Folendorf. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. A communication was read from the Gamewell :ire Alarm Tel- "egrapl: Company notifying the Board that the Diaphone fire alarm equipment ordered had been shipped from their factory June 9 and should arrive in Lodi by July ist. City Marshal Colemen reported a shortage of street rubbish boxes. Upon motion of Trustee Black, seconded by Trustee Keeney, the Marshal was aut'r_crized to purchase six new boxes. Upon motion of Trustee Deaver, seconded by Truitee Black, the action of members br the Board in purchasing the fixtures of the First National Bak was confirmed. Trustee Black reported that he had investigated the matter of procuring the right to use the water of the artesian well or. the Sano innetti place for the proposed swimming tank and was in- formed that as the estate was not settled no such arrangement could be made. No definite information was secured as to a suit- able site for the swimming tank. Upon motion of Trustee Keeney the City Clerk was instructed to communicate with the League of California Municipalities and ascertain what cities have municipal swimming pools: and to com- municate with the clerks of such cities asking for data regarding mode of' heating, cost, cost of maintenance, patron- age, etc., and to report to the Board as soon as the information is available. The application of A. F. Kavanaugh for a saloon license be- ing regualr and no protest having been filed, upon motion of Trus- tee Keeney, seconded by Trustee Black, the license was- granted. The application of R: M. Combs for a saloon license being regular and no protest having been filed, upon motion of Trustee Deaver, seconded by Trustee Keeney, the license was granted. The application of M. D. Duffy for a saloon license being regular and no protest having been filed, upon motion of Trustee Keeney, seconded by Trustee Folerdorf, the license was granted. The application of Wilkinson & Wilkinson. for a wholesale liquor license being regular and no.protest Having been filed, upon motion: of Trustee Keeney, seconded by Trustee Deaver, the li- cense was granted. The application of Lodi Soda Works & Ice Depot for a whole- sale liquor license being regular and no protest having been filed, upon motion. of Trustee Boleneorf, seconded by Trustee Keeney, the license was granted. Upon motion of Trustee Keeney, seconded by Trustee Deaver, the applications of Jacob G. Hieb and C. J. Bender for wholesale liquor licenses were laid over and the clerk was instructed to notify the applicants and their bdndsmen to appear before the Board Wednesday, June 23, 1915, at 3:00 p. m.
