Municipal Building, Lodi, Cal., April 5, 1915.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi convened in regu-
lar session at 8:20 p.m., there being present Trustees Hale, Keeney,
Deaver and Folendorf. Trustee Black absent.
Minutes of regular meeting of Marcie 15th and special meet-
ing of :larch 26 were read and approved.
M. 0. Holt, 0. A. Schroeder and R. J. Custer requested per-
mission of the Board to install six one -light electroliers on West
Elm street, west of Hutchins street, the property owners to pay for
standards and fixtures, the city to install and light the same. The
matter was referred to a committee of the whole.
Superintendent Henning reported that he had request from
Junius 3rier and J. C. Culbertson for sewer facilities on West Locust
street. The report was ordered filed.
The following applications for building permits were consid-
ered and granted: _ .
R. A. Richards, private garage at 226 North School street.
C.A.Pratt, dwelling at 319 West Woodbridge Avenue.
Jacob Gatzert, to remodel theatre at 23 West Elm street.
Mrs.w.H.Sherman,to remodel dwelling at 411 E.Flora street.
Forest Reynolds, private stable at 506 E.Pire street.
J.E.Hopkins and J.C.Ferguson, to build addition to store
Wilding 207 North Sacramento street.
Mrs. J. P. Henderson, addition to dwelling at 412 west
Locust street.
C. C. Garner, poultry house at 223 West Pine street.
F.F.Irey, addition to dwelling at 342 East Locust street.
Mrs. Isabel Wright, dwelling on North School:street.
Fento E. %Tight, private garage and woodshed on North
School street.
The request of A. C. Wright asking that additional equip-
ment be provided for the fire department was referred to a commit-
tee of the whole.
The following resolution was read and upon :notion was laid
on the table for not less than five days:
RESOLUTION.
WHEREAS, There has been raised by popular subscription for
the construction of a public swimming tank the sum of one thousand
dollars, which said sum has been turned over to this Board of Trus-
tees to be used in the construction of such swimmimg tank; and
WHEREAS, Such voluntary subscription of said sum is sub-
stantial evidence of popular demand for such public utility; and
WHEREAS, That certain parcel of land located at the south-
east corner of Sacramento street and Lodi avenue and designated as
Lots One, Two and Three of Larson's Addition to Lodi is owned by
the City of Lodi and is a fit and suitable location for said swim-
ming tar{: therefore be it,
RESOLVED, That the DUblic interest, Convenience a:id•neces-
sity demand the construction and maintenance of a municipal swim-
ming tank in the City of Lodi; and be it further
RESOLVED, That Lots One, Two and Three of Larson's Addi-
tion to Lodi is a fit and suitable location for said swimming tank,
and that said lots be and the same are hereby set aside and appro-
priated for the use and occupancy of said municipal swimming tank.
The matter of gasoline storage in the. garage in alley be-
tween Sacramento and School, Pine and Oak streets, was referred to
the Fire Chief for investigation.
The application of A. M. Jones for a saloon license, hav-
ing been advertised as required by law, was taken up for final con-
sideration. No protests having been filed it was moved by Trustee
Keeney, seconded by Trustee Folendorf, that the license be granted.
The motion was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Keen-
ey, Folendorf, Deaver and Hale. Nays: None. Absent: Black.
F. J. Beaty requested the Board to take up with the Cali-
fornia Traction Company the matter of removing the line of poles
on Lodi Avenue from the sidewalk space. Referred to the street
committee.
In the matter of the municipal dumping ground it was.de-
cided that all requests for use of same should for the present be
made to the City Marshal until suitable regulations governing the
same shall have been formulated.

Chairman Keeney of the Public Health and safety Committee
reported in the matter of the request of F. L. Cornwell for a gaso-
line permit for his clothes -cleaning establishment on South Chero-
kee street that the proposed building could be located sixty feet
from buildings on adjoining property and recommended the granting
of the permit. Upon motion regularly made, seconded and carried the
permit was granted.
Communications from the following were received, read and
ordered filed:
Clark & Henery Construction Compa:ly regarding engineering
fess; State Board of Health regarding duties and compensation of
local health officers; California iydraulic Engineering and Supply
j Compary and Charles C. Moore Compa ly offering to furnish equipment
for the municipal swimmimg tank.
Miscellaneous claims against.the city amounting to x5590.50,
having been approved by the auditing committee, were allowed and or-
dered paid.
No further business appearing the Board upon motion ad-
journed,to meet again Monday, April 12, Z�Pj
