The Board of Trusteess of the City of Lodi convened pursu— ant to adjournment of February 15th at 8:00 p.m. There were pres— ent Trustees Hale, Black, Keeney, Deaver and Folendorf. Building permits were granted as follows: • J. G. Anderson, dwelling on lot 3, block 38,Lod1. w. J. Jones, dwelling on lot 8, block 4, East Lodi. W. J. Jones, wood and carriage shed,lot 8,block 4,East Lodi. C. H. Suess, print shop on lot lot 3, block 1, East Lodi. Seventh Day Adventist Church, outhouse on south 100 feet of lot 30, Lodi Barnhart Tract. The Board having advertised from February 4th to February 1 19th that sealed bids would be received up to 8:00 p.m. February- s 23d for furnishing sewer pipe and fittings, water pipe and fit— tings, and other supplies, proposals from the following firms were opened and reviewed: J. W. Blair, U. S. Iron Pipe and Foundry Co., H. C. MaddoX, N. Clark & Sons, Paine, Bailey & Co.,. G. W. Weissbaum & Co., Water works Supply Company and Gladding, McBean & Co. Upon motion of Trustee Deaver, seconded by Trustee Keeney, the bid of H. C. Muddox, of $330.81 for furnishing sewer pipe and fittings, and the bid of Paine, Bailey & Co., for furnishing cast iron water pipe at $30 per ton and fittings for $6o per ton, were accepted and all other proposals rejected. The motion was carried by the affirmative votes of Trustees Deaver, Keeney, Black, Folen— dorf and Hale. G. A. Gerlach and A. P. Krumb requested the Board to take some action toward perfecting the plumbing ordinance by the pas— sage of a new ordinance or amending the.. old, stating the present law is not effective. A petition signed by S. S. Murphy and others requesting the Board to investigate the feasability of a municipally, owned paving plant, was on motion referred to the Utilities Committee. Upon motion the Utilities Committee was authorized to place insurance upon the water works, wagon shed, wagons and jail. Fire Chief Stark recommended the placing of fire hydrants in the western addition and suggested that plugs be removed from the business district to be replaced with hydrants of improved pattern. The matter was referred to Superintendent Henning and _� the Fire Chief for investigation and report. The board adjourned. Attest: City Clerk.
