The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi cor.venRd in regular
session at 8:00 p.m. All members were present, Chairman Hale presiding.
Minutes of the previous meeting :were read and approved.

H. N. Madison, to remodel building on lot 8, block 16,Lodl.
W. R. Haney, addition at 224 N. Grand Avenue.
R. - uoux, private stable at 525 _okay Street.
':r. W. Brower, to remove two buildings from lot7, 'lock 3,
on West Pin' etre-t, to Beronio Prope ty on Daisy Avenue near Pleas-
ant Avenue.

A comeunicatiort 'raaa received and filed from the Western
States Gas & Eie:trio Compary acknowledging receipt of warrant for

ritory.
A communication from A. Carlisle f- Co. , accompanied by a
street work reeora book was read and the clerk was direetee to re-

A communication was read from D.E. Brauer protesting that
his taxes :ere too high, claiming error in assessment, and asking
for a refund of :14.30. The Clerk was in-tructed to answer the commu-
nication stating the mat`.er should have been brought before the
Board of Equalization at the proper time.
Librarian J. A. Swallow in a communiaat ion requested the
reappointment of the .pres t board of library directors, whereupon
it was moved 'Jr Trustee Deaver, 3aoonded• by Trustee Folendorf, that
w. H. Thompson, E. G. Williams, H. F. Ellis, George LePeber and
G. W. Le.o1n be r'?appotnted as members of the Board of Directors of
:he Lodi P ilio Library to serve at the pleasure of the Board of
Trustees df the. City of Lodi or until *heir successors shall have
been appointed and qualified. The motion was carried unanimously.
Labor claims amounting to 0315.55, 'saving been approved by
the finance committee, were allowed and warrants ordered drawn: for
the amo' lilt s .
In the matter o: the prop§e4 street lighting it was moved
by Deaver, seconded by Black, that property owners on West Pine
street, in the block between School Street ani Church street, b9
permitted to install eight three -light electroliera, and property
owner. from Church street to iiUtchln3 street be permitted to install
fifteen one -light electrolier3. The motion was carried unanimously.
{arrison Brannock offered to sell to the city a street rol-
ler for $50. The natter was referred to the street committee.
Upon motion regularly made, seconded and carried, the Pres-
ident of the Board was authorized t0 appoint a committee of three
to investigate the feasibility of installing a plant for the gen-
erating of electricity to supply tie city. The Chairman appointed
Trustees Deaver, Black and Folendorf. .
