Tha Board of Trustees of th-e City of Lodi convened pursuant to adjournment of `•iova:fibar 24th at 7:20 p.m., there being present Trustees Keeney, Black, Hale, Fol? ndorf and Deaver. Preaidant of the Board Hal? presided. Minutes of the previous nesting were read and approved. Building permits were granted as follows: E.:.vanvlear (for Ur3.S.E.3oush), to remodel and put in glass front at 17 west oak 3t. Dr. Tower, to hove building from front to rear of lot and build addition at 300 West Pine St. G.8.Long, to build chicken house at 408 South SaCrar erto St. Geo.W.Eib, to build private garage at 339 East Lodi Ave. Clark & Henery Construction Com a y applied for permission to • pave, under private contracts with property owners, the alley between the north line of Pine St. and the south line of Elm St., between and parallel to Sacranento St. and School St., by doing the necessary grad- ing rading and constructing thereon an asphalt pavement consisting of a three- inch asphaltic foundation and a one and one-half inch sheet asphalt wearing surface, in accordance with plans and specifications approved by the City Engineer of tri City of Lodi. Upon motion of Trustee Black, seconded by Trustee Folendorf, the permission was granted by the af- firmative votes of Trustees Black, r:olandorf, Kaaney, Deaver and Hale. Clark Sc Henery Construction Company applied for permission to impr cva alley between the ;Vest line of alley between Elm, Pine, Sacra- mento and School Sta., and the -last line of Schools St., under private contracts With property owners by 'Lo1ngtna necessary grading and con- structing thereon an asphalt pavement consisting of a three-inch as- phaltic foundation and a one and ore -half inch sheat asphalt wearing surface in accordance with plans and specifications approved by the City F ginner. Upon motion of Trustee Keeney, seconded by Trustee Folendor, , the permission was granted by tie affirmative votes of Trus- tees Keenay, Folandorf, Black, Deaver and F_ala Clark °c Henery Construction Compar_y appllel for permission to i'rgrova Test clan St., from the oast line of North School St. to the cast line of ::utchins St., under private contracts with property own- ers, by constructing concrete curbs and concrete gutters, grading the Street to the proper dub -grade and constructing thereon an El Csico pave5l.'it Consisting of a. four -inch asphaltic foundation and an El Csico wearing surface one inch in thickness, to be done in accord- anaa with plans and specifications approved by th?.City Engineer of the City of Lodi. Upon motion of Trustee Polandorf, seconded by Trus- tee Keeney, the permission asked for was granted by the affirmative votes of Trusties Folandorf, Kaaney, Tacit, Deaver and Hale. Affidavits of publication of Notice of Award of Contracts under Resolutions of Award Nos. 10, 11 anis 12, were presented and ordered 1iiad. Ordinance io. 82, entitled "An Ordinance Licensing for the Pur- pose of Revenue and Regulation Every Kind of Lawful Business Herein Specified, Transacted or Carried On within t'ra Cor orate Limits of the City of Lodi, State of California, Fixing the Rate of License Tax upon the Sara, Providing for the Collection of Said License Tax, a.r.d Punishment For the Carrying On of Ouch Business Without a Li- cense and Repealing Certain Ordinances," having bPen introduced noveriJar 16th and by motion laid on the table for not less than five days, was given final reading. Trustee Keeney moved, seconded by Trustee Foiendorf, that Sub- divisior. 3 of Section 14. be amended by striking out two words, "spir- itualist" an:: "spiritualistic", which motion was carried by the af- firmative votes of Trustees Kaaney, Folerdcrf and Black, Trustee Deaver voting against the arsandment . Trustee Black ravel, seconded by Trustee Keeney, the adoption of the above. named 0rdirarca No. 72 as aoanded, which motion was car- ried bythe following vote: Ayes: Trustees Black, Kaaney, Deaver, Fol- ardorf and Hale.
